<br />200607824 <br /> <br />divide the property as may be reasonable, having regard for the <br /> <br /> <br />circumstances of the parties, the duration of the marriage, a <br /> <br /> <br />history of the contributions to the marriage by each party, <br /> <br />including contributions to the care and education of the children. <br /> <br /> <br />The Court finds also that interruptions of personal <br /> <br /> <br />careers or educational opportunities during the period when minor <br /> <br /> <br />children are in the home and the ability of the one party to engage <br /> <br /> <br />in gainful employment without interfering with the interest of <br /> <br /> <br />minor children should be taken into account. <br /> <br /> <br />The Court finds also that in reaching a reasonab-Ie <br /> <br /> <br />division of property and a reasonable award of alimony the two <br /> <br /> <br />serve different purposes, though they may overlap. The Court also <br /> <br /> <br />finds that the test in determining the correctness in the amount <br /> <br /> <br />of alimony, as well as the appropriateness of the division of <br /> <br /> <br />property is the reasonableness of said awards as determined by the <br /> <br /> <br />facts of each case and subj ect to the sound disc ret i on of the <br /> <br /> <br />Court. <br /> <br />In viewing the property held by the parties, the Court <br /> <br /> <br />finds that in regard to the pens ion plans of part i es to such <br /> <br /> <br />act ion, var i OUS methods have been prov i ded by 1 aw to d i v i de and <br /> <br /> <br />allocate pension accounts. The Court finds in this case that the <br /> <br /> <br />bulk of any accumulation as far as value is concerned consists of <br /> <br /> <br />the ret i rement programs and deferred i ncome progl~ams created by <br /> <br /> <br />the Respondent with assistance from his employer. ThOugh pension <br /> <br /> <br />plans may be divided in various methods, the method this Court <br /> <br /> <br />finds most appropriate is for each of the parties herein to be <br /> <br />~ <br />
