<br />Section 2.10. Governmental Benefits: My Agent is authorized to utilize all lawful means
<br />to obtain any benefits payable to or for my benefit by any governmental agency or body, such as
<br />Supplemental Social Security (SSI), Medicaid, Medicare, and Social Security Disability Insurance
<br />(SSDI). For the purposes of receiving Social Security benefits, I appoint my Agent as my
<br />"Representative Payee." My Agent is authorized to compromise any claims for governmental
<br />benefits.
<br />Section 2.11. Safety Deposit Boxes: My Agent is authorized to open and enter any safety
<br />deposit box which may be in my name at any time. My Agent may take any action concerning any
<br />safety deposit box in my name, including, but not limited to, removing any contents from any safety
<br />deposit box, adding contents to any safety deposit box and terminating the lease of any safety
<br />deposit box. My Agent may establish a safety deposit box in my name. These same powers shall
<br />apply to any joint safety deposit box of which I am a signatory.
<br />Section 2.12. Treasury Securities: My Agent may transfer any part or all of my interest in
<br />any type of United States Treasury securities, including, but not limited to, T- bills, E bonds, H
<br />bonds, EE bonds, HH bonds, treasury debentures, and treasury notes. My Agent may acquire any
<br />of these securities in my name. This power shall apply to securities issued by any United States
<br />government agency or any security guaranteed or backed by the United States government or any
<br />of its agencies.
<br />Section 2.13. Tax Matters and Dealing with the Internal Revenue Service: My Agent is
<br />authorized to represent me in all tax matters; to prepare, execute, sign, and file Federal, state and
<br />local income tax and other returns of all kinds; to renounce and disclaim any interest otherwise
<br />passing to me by testate or intestate succession or by inter vivos transfer; to make any income tax,
<br />estate tax, gift tax, inheritance tax, generation - skipping tax, or other tax elections as may be
<br />determined by my Agent to be necessary or desirable, including, but not limited to, the authority to
<br />consent to the splitting of gifts made by me or my spouse, to pay the taxes due, to collect and
<br />negotiate any refunds, to sign waivers extending the period for the assessment of taxes or
<br />deficiencies, to sign consents to the immediate assessment of deficiencies and proposed over -
<br />assessments, to execute closing agreements, to engage attorneys and others to represent me in
<br />connection with any matters arising before any Federal, state or local taxing authorities or agency,
<br />to receive confidential information, to deal with the Internal Revenue Service and any other taxing
<br />authority in every respect as fully as I could act, and to execute on my behalf such powers of
<br />attorney as may be required and necessary for such taxing authorities, including, but not limited to,
<br />Internal Revenue Service Form 2848, Power of Attorney and Declaration of Representative.
<br />Section 2.14. Investment of Assets: My Agent may invest and reinvest any of my money,
<br />property or other proceeds of any of my investments, including any income from my investments
<br />as my Agent shall deem proper.
<br />Section 2.15. Power to Sign Documents: My Agent shall have full power to sign,
<br />acknowledge or deliver any contracts, deeds or other documents as may be necessary or advisable
<br />to carry out the purposes of this Durable General Power of Attorney.
<br />Section 2.16. Pre -Need Burial Arrangements: My Agent may purchase funeral
<br />arrangements, a casket, a cemetery lot, a marker, grave opening and other burial needs and services
<br />on a pre -need basis. My Agent may designate as irrevocable the amount permitted under Medicaid
<br />standards.
<br />Section 2.17. To Make Gifts and Implement Estate Plan: My Agent is authorized to make
<br />gifts to reduce my estate or for charitable, religious or educational purposes. My Agent is authorized
<br />to continue any plan of gifts I have initiated and to implement any estate plan that I have formed.
<br />Any gift made by my Agent other than for charitable, religious or educational purposes, cannot
<br />exceed the annual exclusion as provided for in the Internal. Revenue Code, and my Agent cannot
<br />make any gifts that may incur any federal gift tax or make any gift that may use any of my lifetime
<br />unified credit. Gifts may be made to my Agent if my Agent is a member of my family and would
<br />otherwise be deprived of an equal share.
