200400552 <br />Mayor and City Council of the City of Wood River, Nebraska, may <br />issue district improvement warrants of combined Street Improvement <br />Districts Nos. 2000 -1, 2000 -2 and 2000 -3 of' the City of Wood River, <br />Nebraska, in the form and manner provided by law. <br />Section 6. To allow the final payment and retirement of said <br />warrants and to pay for the cost of paving, grading, curbing, <br />guttering or other necessary improvements incidental thereto, the <br />Mayor and City Council may issue bonds in such form and manner as <br />may be provided by law and may assess the costs of said work to the <br />property in each of said districts in proportion to the benefits <br />derived therefrom, whether or not such bonds are issued. <br />Section 7. After the passage, approval and publication of <br />this Ordinance as provided herein, there shall be published as <br />provided by law in The Wood River Sunbeam, a notice with respect to <br />the districts created by the terms of this Ordinance, which notice <br />shall provide, among other things, that if a majority of the <br />resident owners of the property directly abutting on the street or <br />alley to be improved in said district shall file with the City <br />Clerk within 20 days after the first publication of said notice, <br />written objections to the creation of a district, the improvements <br />in said district shall not be made as provided in this Ordinance. <br />Section 8. This Ordinance shall be published two (2) times in <br />The Wood River Sunbeam, a legal weekly newspaper published and of <br />general circulation in the City of Wood River, Nebraska, and shall <br />take effect and be in full force from and after its passage, <br />approval and publication as provided by law. <br />Section 9. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in full <br />force 30 days after its enactment and publication unless referendum <br />petitions shall be filed within said 30 days with the City Clerk <br />pursuant to the provisions of § 18 -2501 to 18 -2537 inclusive, <br />R.R.S. Neb., as amended, in which case the effectiveness of this <br />Ordinance shall be suspended. <br />Section 10.
