Such <br />application shall be made subject to <br />any reasonable restrictions including <br />bonding requirements as the village <br />board deems necessary. <br />SECTION 5. Application for permit. The application for a permit <br />to make a cut or opening in any street, alley, sidewalk or other <br />public ground shall be made to the office of the village clerk <br />and shall show the name of the party reeking the permit, the <br />location of the cut or opening to be made, the purpose for which <br />the same is to be made, and any other pertinent information the <br />village clerk may require. <br />SECTION G. The party applying for a permit to make a cut or <br />opening in any street, alley, sidewalk or public ground shall pay <br />to the village clerk at the time such permit is issued a fee in <br />the sum of one Dollar ($1.00), which amount shall be credited to <br />the general fund of the village. No fee shall be charged for those <br />performing services under contract for the village and having need <br />to make a cut or opening in any street, alley, sidewalk or public <br />ground, but a permit shall be required. <br />SECTION 7. Responsibility of permitee regarding expense, <br />liability for poor workmanship or materials, failure to repair. <br />a. Public utility corporations operating <br />in the village under a franchise, li- <br />censed plumbers, village owned utility <br />departments, parties lowering curbs <br />for a driveway entrance, parties <br />performing services under contract <br />for the village, and other permitees <br />shall, at their awn expense, make <br />such cuts or openings in streets, <br />alleys, sidewalks, and public grounds <br />according to specifications hereinafter <br />provided. If the surface of any such <br />cut or opening made in any street, <br />alley, sidewalk or public ground should <br />thereafter become defective within two <br />years by reason of settling, faulty <br />workmanship, or materials, the same <br />shall, upon notice from the village <br />clerk, be immediately repaired and <br />restored to the satisfaction of the <br />village c:ark, at no expense to the <br />village.
