Motion carried. <br /> <br />16 DISCUSS BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT VACANCY: The County Board accepted the <br />letter of resignation from Ron Rockwell for the Board of Adjustment at the last county <br />board meeting. County Building Inspector Max Boerson has an alternate member for <br />the board of adjustment and in the past he has made a recommendation to the Board of <br />Supervisors to use the alternate member for the replacement. Mr. Boerson would like to <br />move his current alternate, Don Deitemeyer, to fill the vacancy on the Board of <br />Adjustment and then recommend an alternate to the County Board for their approval. <br />Discussion was held on advertising for the positions. Lancaster stated that the alternate <br />would know what the job entails and it would make sense to move him to the board <br />position. Lancaster made a motion and Logan seconded to follow Max Boerson's <br />recommendation to move the alternate up to the board and the County Board picks the <br />alternate for the Board of Adjustment. Arnold, Hartman, Humiston, Jeffries, Lancaster <br />and Logan all voted yes and Landis voted no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />18 APPROVE CLAIM FOR HALL CO. AIRPORT: County Clerk Marla Conley explained <br />that this claim is for grant funds that were electronically transferred to the County <br />Treasurer's office on November 6. The request for the funds was signed and submitted <br />to the Nebraska Department of Economic Development and were received. Lancaster <br />made a motion and Jeffries seconded to approve the claim for the Hall County Airport in <br />the amount of $55,199.00 for the grant funds. Arnold, Hartman, Humiston, Jeffries, <br />Lancaster, Landis and Logan all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />19 DISCUSS CO. BUILDING DISPLAY: Lancaster stated she would like to see the <br />county buildings have a Christmas display. She would like to see large wreaths on the <br />buildings. She checked one business and the wreaths are less than $15.00 apiece so <br />this could be done at a minimal cost. The Hall County Park is beautiful but it would be <br />nice to address the other buildings. Lancaster made a motion and Logan seconded to <br />purchase wreaths from miscellaneous general fund from the miscellaneous line item. <br />Arnold, Hartman, Humiston, Jeffries, Lancaster, Landis and Logan all voted yes and <br />none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Jeffries stated that a second item under this topic he would like to see done, is to light <br />the tower on the courthouse like tower at St. Mary's Cathedral. Jeffries stated he had <br />talked to an electrician and this project could be done. Landis made a motion and <br />Lancaster seconded to authorize Bud Jeffries to check on the lighting of the Courthouse <br />tower year round. Arnold, Hartman, Humiston, Jeffries, Lancaster, Landis and Logan all <br />voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />15 COMMENCE AUDIT OF MONTHLY CLAIMS AND ACTION ON CLAIM AUDIT: The <br />board members reviewed the monthly claims. Logan thanked the computer committee <br />for the spreadsheet explaining the expenditures the amount paid to ABACUS. The <br />board reviewed the medical expenses from the jail. Discussion was held on contacting <br />the legislature on the cost of medical expenses to counties. The County Board <br />authorized Lonnie Logan to draft a letter to our state senators and to NACO addressing <br />this matter. Logan made a motion and Jeffries seconded to approve the claims as <br />audited. Arnold, Hartman, Humiston, Jeffries, Lancaster, Landis and Logan all voted yes <br />and none voted no. Motion carried. <br />
