<br />2000053;3 <br /> <br />BOARD ASSISTANT'S REPORT: Board Assistant Stacy Ruzicka reviewed the meeting <br />for the board members and asked how the board wanted to schedule the meetings for <br />December 2001. The second and fourth Tuesday's would be December 11th and 25th. <br />The board stated to schedule the meetings for December 11 th and December 18th, 2001. <br />She reminded the board members of a press conference at the Hall County Airport on <br />Thursday. The flue shots for the county employees will be available tomorrow from 8:30 <br />a.m. to 4:30 a.m. The classification committee will meet after the board meeting and the <br />quarterly jail tour will be held today. <br /> <br />BOARD MEMBER'S REPORTS: Logan - He attended the merit commission meeting <br />and county government day. <br /> <br />Jeffries - He attended county government day Monday, the reuse meetings and the <br />extension board meeting. The extension board will be holding their Christmas event <br />December 7, and if anyone is interested in attending to contract the extension office. <br /> <br />Lancaster - She stated the HeadStart was held November 13th through the 17'h and the <br />committee met with the federal representatives. The report will be completed in 45 to <br />60. She stated that HeadStart has done everything and more that was requested from <br />the last reviews. In the last review they requested oversite on HeadStart reports and <br />additional signatures on the checks issued from HeadStart and the county board <br />representatives have done that. The review recommended that a corporate cooperate <br />board should be in place. She also attended the computer committee meetings. <br />She reported that Pat Downs with the Economic Development Corporation has resigned <br />and this will be a big loss to the community. The search committee will start looking for <br />a replacement again. She also attended the reception for Irene Abenethy and Bill <br />Barrett. Lancaster stated that the Convention Visitors Bureau received a Union Pacific <br />crossing light and would like to place the light by the tourism caboose. But it will require <br />footings and electrical work to install it. The Hall County Public Works Department has <br />done repair work to the cement slab at the caboose but they cannot be expected to do <br />all of the work on projects like this free of charge. Discussion was held concerning this <br />and it was suggested that the road department prepare an estimate on the cost of the <br />project. Lancaster stated that she completed the citizens police academy at the Law <br />Enforcement Training Center. <br /> <br />Arnold - He reported that he attended the HeadStart review meetings. He attended the <br />computer committee meetings and reported that some of the software programs are <br />causing problems and there some issues of the hardware. He also stated that training is <br />an issue that needs to be to be addressed. <br /> <br />Humiston - He reported that he also completed the citizens police academy. He also <br />attended the computer committee meetings, county government day and the reception <br />for Irene Abernethy and Bill Barrett. <br /> <br />Landis - She reported that the CAAP history committee will meet on November 30 and <br />there will be a Reuse Committee meeting on December 11. The request for designation <br />of land at CAAP could cause serious problems in the future. This will be discussed and <br />brought back to the then entire county board. <br /> <br />Hartman - He attended the reuse committee meeting and county government day. <br />
