<br />20000446 <br /> <br />BOARD ASSISTANT'S REPORT: Stacey Ruzicka reminded the board members that the <br />ADA committee will meet tomorrow at noon and that the NACO Central District meeting <br />will be held September 21. <br /> <br />BOARD MEMBER'S REPORTS: Logan - He attended the county government day <br />committee meeting and reported that county government day will be Held November 27. <br />This was the only day the Judges would be available and the only date the Veterans <br />Club would be available to use. The consultant RDG submitted a revised schedule for <br />the long-range planning facilities study. He also reported that he received calls from the <br />public concerning the audio on the last broadcast board meeting and they reported the <br />sound was poor. <br /> <br />Jeffries - He attended the public works committee meeting, the extension office meeting <br />and the Grand Island Rural Fire District Board meeting. Discussion was held on the <br />various boards and committee meetings that the board members attend and if it is <br />necessary for the board members to attend all of these meetings. <br /> <br />Lancaster - She attended the budget work-study meetings and the corrections <br />department union negotiations. She also attended a workforce Development Meeting in <br />Lincoln and has additional information on the remodeling on the Southern Public Power <br />Building. Workforce Development has streamlined the procedures used to assist people <br />in obtaining employment. <br /> <br />Arnold - He attended the corrections department union negotiations. <br /> <br />Humiston - He attended the budget work-study sessions and has three committee <br />meetings tomorrow. <br /> <br />Landis - She also attended several union negotiations meetings and the budget work- <br />study meetings. The Reuse Committee is working on the second sale of land at CAAP <br />and they will try to sell the house again. <br /> <br />Hartman - He attended the weed board meeting and also the Grand Island Rural Fire <br />District meeting. <br /> <br />Arnold questioned if the board members need to attend all of the outside board meetings <br />that they do not have the right to vote during the proceedings. Discussion was held <br />concerning the various committees and it was suggested that the board contract Jerry <br />Janulewicz concerning this. <br /> <br />Lancaster announced that the County board received another "Partner in Progress <br />Award" from the Grand Island Area Economic Development. This award is for the <br />Emulsified Asphalt project. <br /> <br />6.10:30 AM. PUBLIC HEARING FOR THE CO. BUDGET: Jeffries made a motion and <br />Arnold seconded to open the public hearing for the county budget. Arnold, Hartman <br />Humiston Jeffries, Lancaster, Landis and Logan all voted yes and none voted no. <br />Motion carried. <br />
