<br />(20000143 <br /> <br />L"<tl(~ 4/10/ 00 <br /> <br />HALL COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS MEETING MARCH 14,2000 <br /> <br />The Hall County Board of Supervisors met from adjourned session and by published call in the <br />county board meeting room, 121 South Pine, Grand Island, Nebraska, February 22, 2000 at 9:00 <br />a.m. <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order by Chairman Richard Hartman. <br /> <br />Invocation was given by Rev. Dennis Reich with Calvary Lutheran Church. <br /> <br />The Pledge of Allegiance was given in unison. <br /> <br />Present on roll call were Richard Hartman, Bud Jeffries, Pamela Lancaster, Lonnie Logan and <br />Tammie Stelk. Also present were Deputy County Attorney Jerry Janulewicz and news media <br />representatives from the Grand Island Independent and KRGI. Scott Arnold and Margaret Landis <br />arrived at 9:15 a.m. <br /> <br />Accepted and placed on file the minutes of the February 22 meeting. <br /> <br />Supervisor Lancaster provided the board with a copy of the letter of response for Head Start and <br />informed the board members that they have answered all the questions from the Kansas City <br />office. <br /> <br />Accepted and placed on file the evaluation report on the Hall County Courthouse from Victor <br />Afdemberge and Ed Kucierk. They reviewed the report that addressed the electrical service, <br />heating and air conditioning service and the remodeling of the courtrooms. The board is waiting <br />for the long range planning study to come back before addressing this evaluation report. <br /> <br />Approved the purchase of a new patrol car for the Hall County Sheriff's Department to replace the <br />vehicle that was wrecked in a motor vehicle accident. The purchase was made through the state <br />bid. They also approved the purchase of a fax machine from the equipment acquisition fund for <br />the sheriff's department. <br /> <br />Heard an update from Deputy County Attorney Jerry Janulewicz and Corrections Director Dave <br />Arnold on the meeting that was in Washington D.C. with the INS. The INS is requesting Hall <br />County to sign an agreement guaranteeing space in the county jail. This matter was referred to <br />the correction steering committee. <br /> <br />Held the public hearing on the 1 & 6 Year Road Plan for the Hall County Highway Department. <br />Public Works Director Dan Hostler stated that $150,000.00 of keno funds is budgeted in this <br />proposal. The board approved the 1 & 6 Year Road Plan for Hall County. <br /> <br />Under public participation heard from Louise Miller express her concerns on the Wood River <br />Warm Slough Project and on the amount of money that has been spent on the old courthouse <br />building. <br /> <br />Approved Resolution #00-0021 rescinding previous resolutions regarding the community <br />development block grant project at the Hall County Airport. <br /> <br />Approved by consent agenda the following: <br />1. Accept and place on file the report on the sale of surplus inventory at children's village <br />2. Ratify the public hearing to issue industrial development bonds for the YWCA of Grand Island <br />for 3/28/200 at 10:00 a.m. <br />3. Set the public hearing for the planned unit development for Jamison house for 3/28/200 at <br />10:30 a.m. <br />
