<br />~ 01165 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, public health has contributed to the decline in illness and injury, <br />including heart disease and stroke, tobacco-related diseases, infectious disease and <br />motor vehicle and workplace injuries; and <br /> <br />Whereas, Public Health Month provides the opportunity to learn about public <br />health success stories including the elimination of polio, reduction in childhood blood <br />lead levels, and continues frontline efforts to develop methods to immunize populations <br />against infectious disease, maintain good nutrition and food standards and provide good <br />prenatal care for everyone and primary and preventive measures vital to healthy <br />communities; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, public health will continue to be an important part of preserving and <br />improving the health of Hall County citizens in the new year and in an effort to preserve <br />and enhance the health of all Nebraska citizens, we should rely on public health <br />professionals to provide these services in their various areas of expertise; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the National Public Health theme - Healthy People in Healthy <br />Communities - encompasses our goals as a community to ensure that our homes, <br />neighborhoods and communities are places we all, especially children, can thrive, <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Hall County Board of <br />Supervisors that we hereby proclaim April as NATIONAL PUBLIC HEALTH MONTH in <br />Hall County and that we call upon our citizens to observe the month with appropriate <br />programs and activities. <br /> <br />Passed and adopted this 2ih day of March, 2001, <br /> <br />Resolution moved by sUP?,or ~;j;~1:~1U L <br />Seconded by Supervisor \.
