Jeffries made a motion and Lancaster seconded <br />to accept the committee recommendation to purchase the New Holland skid steer <br />loader. Eriksen, Hartman, Humiston, Jeffries, Lancaster and Logan all voted yes and <br />Arnold voted no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />9 APPOINTMENT TO THE WEED BOARD: The county board held a work-study session <br />for the interviews for the vacancy on the weed board on March 26. Hartman stated that <br />the board received two applications and interviewed Neal Sidders and Gerald Moeller. <br />Mr. Sidders had served on the weed board for eight years and the county board <br />appointed Neal Sidders to fill the unexpired term. They wanted to have some <br />experience on the board. Jeffries made a motion and Humiston seconded to appoint <br />Neal Sidders to fill the unexpired term on the weed board. Arnold, Eriksen, Hartman, <br />Humiston, Jeffries, Lancaster and Logan all voted yes and none voted no. Motion <br />carried. <br /> <br />11 EXECUTIVE SESSION - REAL ESTATE NEGOTIATIONS: Logan made a motion <br />and Lancaster seconded to go into executive for real estate negotiations. Arnold, <br />Eriksen, Hartman, Humiston, Jeffries, Lancaster and Logan all voted yes and none voted <br />no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />9:18 a.m. Executive session <br /> <br />9:35 a.m. Jeffries made a motion and Humiston seconded to go out of executive <br />session. Arnold, Eriksen, Hartman, Humiston and Jeffries all voted yes and none voted <br />no, with Lancaster and Logan absent for the vote. Motion carried. <br /> <br />12 DISCUSS AND APPROVE PROCLAMATION NAMING APRIL AS PUBLIC HEALTH <br />MONTH AND DISCUSS DISPLAY PROMOTING PUBLIC HEALTH: Jim Eriksen <br />introduced three representatives from the health department, Deb Potratz, Rochelle <br />Kieborz and Shirley Terry. Shirley Terry explained the traveling display that they would <br />like to display in the county buildings. Lancaster made a motion and Eriksen seconded <br />to approve the proclamation Resolution # 01-0024 and approve setting up the display in <br />the county buildings. Arnold, Eriksen, Hartman, Humiston, Jeffries, Lancaster and Logan <br />all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />PROCLAMATION <br /> <br />RESOLUTION PROCLAIMING APRIL AS <br />PUBLIC HEALTH MONTH IN HALL COUNTY <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #01-0024 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, healthy people in healthy communities are Hall County's greatest <br />resource; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, advances in public health have added 25 years of increased life <br />expectancy in the United States since the turn of the century, and it succeeds by <br />identifying and addressing patterns of disease, illness and injury in populations and <br />ensuring healthy living and working condition; and <br />
