The bond attorney will handle the issuance of <br />the bonds and what will be necessary to proceed. <br /> <br />Executive Director Susan Gallagher stated that she used the suggestion from Dick <br />Hartman to put the total amount that will be necessary in the bond issue. This will make <br />it simpler for the voters to understand. The total will be $4.9 million. The board asked <br />Ms. Gallager when this was decided and she stated that the museum board met <br />yesterday afternoon and it was their decision to make the request this way. <br />Arnold - He questioned how the operation costs could be collected when they were <br />needed and Ms. Gallager stated that the bonds can be let when needed. <br /> <br />Logan - He asked Pam Price what the increase on taxes would be and she said she <br />estimated that it would be about $20.00 for every $100,000.00 worth of valuation, this is <br />only a guess. <br /> <br />Jeffries - He asked Jerry Janulewicz if the money that the museum receives could be <br />used for maintenance only, but Jerry replied that this is a separate state statute it will be <br />an interlocal agreement to operate a joint recreational facility. <br /> <br />Logan - He asked if money for the promotion campaign has been built into this request <br />and Ms. Gallager replied that tax dollars can not be used for a campaign. The keno <br />dollars from the keno request could have been used for education but they cannot do a <br />campaign so they are trying to be careful. <br /> <br />Jeffries made a motion and Arnold seconded to approve Resolution #02-0048 for the <br />joint recreation project relating to an operating train at Stuhr Museum. Arnold, Eriksen, <br />Hartman, Humiston, Jeffries, Lancaster and Logan all voted yes and none voted no. <br />Motion carried. Lancaster requested that the museum provide the county board with a <br />copy of their budget. <br /> <br />4 <br />
