<br />(03042 <br /> <br />discussion. He requested that they set up a meeting on February 4th after the work <br />study session. Grant money was received to help with the expenses for a new juvenile <br />service plan. The people that use this plan have determined that the entire plan needs <br />to be rewritten. Howard County would also like to participate with Hall County. They <br />would like to hire a consultant to assist them. Once the committee meets they will bring <br />this back to the board at the February 11th meeting with the request for funding. <br /> <br />11 COMPUTER COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION - DISCUSS AND APPROVE <br />$12,000 FOR VOICE MAIL -Information was included in the board's packets requesting <br />an additional $12,000.00 to complete the voice mail for the county. The cost for the <br />Administration Building is budgeted for in the inheritance fund and $3,000.00 was <br />budgeted in the Probation Office budget for voice mail. To complete the entire project it <br />will cost an additional $12,000.00. It would be more efficient to complete the entire <br />project than to do part of it. They are recommending to spend the additional $12,000.00 <br />from miscellaneous general, miscellaneous line item. Jeffries made a motion and <br />Humiston seconded to approve spending the additional $12,000.00 from miscellaneous <br />general miscellaneous line item. Arnold, Eriksen, Hartman, Humiston, Jeffries, Lancaster <br />and Rye all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />12 DISCUSS AND APPROVE DONIPHAN FIRE DEPARTMENT FUNDING REQUEST <br />- Hartman stated that since the death of the toddler in a house fire in Doniphan the rural <br />fire department would like to get a smoke alarm system in the homes in Doniphan that <br />have small children. They are requesting keno funding for this project. County Attorney <br />Jerry Janulewicz stated that if the board approves this it could be done. There is money <br />available to cover this request. Hartman made a motion and Jeffries seconded to <br />approve the funding request of $1 ,000.00 from the keno funds for the Doniphan Fire <br />Department. Arnold, Eriksen, Hartman, Humiston, Jeffries, Lancaster and Rye all voted <br />yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />13 DISCUSS MAYOR'S INVITATION FOR LUNCH AT THE CITY OF GRAND <br />ISLAND'S ANNUAL RETREAT - The board received a letter from Mayor Vavricek <br />inviting the board members to it retreat on Saturday, February 22 at Camp Augustine for <br />a working lunch. Discussion was held and six of the board members stated that they <br />would attend, so this would be a work study session. County Clerk Marla Conley will <br />advertise this as a work study session. <br /> <br />16 EXECUTIVE SESSION DISCUSSION ON PERSONNEL CLAIMS - Jeffries made a <br />motion and Eriksen seconded to go into executive session regarding the personnel <br />claims. Arnold, Eriksen, Hartman, Humiston, Jeffries, Lancaster and Rye all voted yes <br />and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />11 :06 a.m. executive session <br /> <br />11 :30 a.m. Arnold made a motion and Humiston seconded to go out of executive <br />session Arnold, Eriksen, Hartman, Humiston, Jeffries, Lancaster and Rye all voted yes <br />and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Jeffries made a motion to deny the claim from Linda Zimmerman and to table the claim <br />from Trudy Janulewicz for further information. Arnold, Eriksen, Hartman, Humiston, <br />Jeffries, Lancaster and Rye all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />5 <br />
