<br />(03043 <br /> <br />Jeffries made a motion and Arnold seconded to approve the other claims as submitted <br />and authorize the clerk to pay. Arnold, Eriksen, Hartman, Humiston, Jeffries, Lancaster <br />and Rye all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />BOARD ASSISTANT'S REPORT - Board assistant Stacey Ruzicka provided the board <br />members with the meeting list in the packets and requested that the evaluations be <br />returned by February 4th. She reminded the computer committee of the meeting at 1 :00 <br />p.m. today concerning the micro filming and reminded Scott Arnold of the pie-eating <br />contest. She also asked if anyone else was interested in the leadership training <br />program that is being offered by NACO. <br /> <br />BOARD MEMBER'S REPORTS - Hartman - none <br /> <br />Humiston - none <br /> <br />Eriksen - He stated that he did not have any meetings, but would like to comment on the <br />purchase of the building for the health department. The agreement was to purchase the <br />same amount of property for the same price that Bosselman's paid. Discussion was <br />held and Lancaster stated that they would get a letter from Mr. Bosselman clarifying this. <br /> <br />Rye - None <br /> <br />Jeffries - He stated that he and Chuck Kaufman toured the probation and public <br />defender's offices and they are coming along fine. There are two doors that will be <br />replaced and the offices are still in the process of moving. <br /> <br />The remodeling project in Judge Luther's office is almost completed. The security issue <br />has made this a long process. <br /> <br />He reported that building and grounds is storing a large amount of computer equipment <br />and the old equipment that does not have much value needs to be disposed off. Most of <br />the useable parts have been removed but they need to clean this up. They sent a memo <br />to Dave Arnold two weeks ago concerning this. Lancaster stated this needs to be <br />addressed and Humiston stated he would bring back a recommendation in two weeks. <br /> <br />Jeffries questioned if the bid lettings could be held at another time other that the board <br />meetings. This was discussed before and he will check on it and consult with Jerry <br />Janulewicz and come back with the information for the board. <br /> <br />Arnold - He had a meeting at Stuhr Museum. <br /> <br />Lancaster - She stated that she worked with Jerry Janulewicz on RFP for the jail and <br />stated that Senator Aguilar has introduced LB 656 that will clarify what counties can and <br />cannot do concerning private jails. She attended the Convention and Visitors Bureau <br />meeting and the Stuhr Museum meeting. <br /> <br />NEW OR UNFINISHED BUSINESS - Chairman Lancaster called for new or unfinished <br />business and no one responded. <br /> <br />Meeting adjourned at 12: 10 p.m. The nest meeting will be February 11, 2003 at 9:00 <br />a.m. <br /> <br />6 <br />
