Motion carried. <br /> 12.DISCUSSION &ACTION TO PAY ONCE FUNDS ARE RECEIVED BY HALL <br /> COUNTY TO PAY CLAIM TO GRAND ISLAND AREA ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT <br /> CORP FOR $1,000,000.00 REGARDING THE HORNADY CDBG GRANT— Sorensen <br /> made a motion and Quandt seconded to pay the claim to Grand Island Area Economic <br /> Development Corporation for $1,000,000.00 regarding the Hornady CDBG grant. <br /> Bredthauer, Hurst, Lancaster, Peterson, Quandt, Richardson and Sorensen all voted <br /> yes, and no one voted no. Motion carried. <br /> 14.FACILITIES —A) DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE ACTION REGARDING PROBATION <br /> PROJECT Loren Humphrey and Marc Kohmetscher with the probation office were <br /> present regarding the proposal to move probation offices to the Federal Building. <br /> Ron said he ask to put this on the agenda one issue is the funding one of the biggest <br /> concerns is the drug testing and how it will be handled because of the parking. <br /> Marc said the state is looking a new drug testing system and they have also looked at <br /> testing at another facility. He said they have 4 staff for the drug testing but will need to <br /> research ideas. He noted that this project has minimal construction costs. He stated <br /> that he is proud of the office and they need more space for bigger conferences and <br /> meetings now they have to use the library or Central Community College and he would <br /> like to host the events here. The federal building would be a good location. He needs <br /> to work with Loren for those costs. <br /> Lancaster said they need something on paper need to know the potential cost need to <br /> know the cost and the county does not have that. Marc noted they have been working <br /> with CMB Architects for some estimates. <br /> Loren noted that employees would not have to share the restrooms and that cost has <br /> been addressed. There are 2 sets of restrooms. <br /> Peterson questioned if it might be a good idea to wait until the addition is completed <br /> then Veterans Court could be moved. Loren noted they can do a lot of the construction, <br /> laying carpet and painting they could do in house and IT would also have to be <br /> included. Ron suggested coming back in 2 weeks with some numbers. Could also <br /> consider an offsite location for the drug testing. <br /> Lancaster also noted that they need some ideas about what will happen with the <br /> present location to use the building or dispose of it. <br /> Mark said they need more information but need to keep moving and costs continue to <br /> go up. Discussion was held to have a plan in place by the end of the year. Discussion <br /> on the architect they will have to have one for the Federal Building. <br /> 6 <br />
