COMMITTEE OR BOARD MEMBER REPORTS - Richardson noted the facebook post regarding Chuck Haase comments regarding the Humane society and expressed concern on some of the comments are frustrating. They are putting together a statement regarding the contract with the City. Tey are also having another meeting. She will add an item to the board agenda for August 25. She also reported they are having a fund raiser on September 18th Bredthauer attended the Midland Area Agency Aging meeting good discussion things are going well and are getting more clients that need services. She also attend the Regional Planning Commission meeting and they are looking at more lots for Habitat for Humanity and check on relief on taxes. She also attended the United Way tour of agencies and it was interesting to see where the keno funds are used. Peterson said he appointed Pm and Scott to assist with the guidelines for the salary study. They met last Friday, he also talked to Jerry Pigsley, NACO and to the Sarpy County HR person regarding suggestions for the salary study and who they used in the past. He noted you want to consider someone that has worked with counties in the past. Jerry has worked with counties for his union negotiations. They will have a recommendation to bring forward. Lancaster said she appreciated the work that Ron has done and is pleased with the progress. She also said that they need to consider hiring an insurance broker for our health insurance. Ron noted they need to set up an insurance committee meeting. Jerry Pigsley and Sarpy County also suggested to look how we structure the steps on the ranges. COUNTY ATTORNEY— County Attorney Marty Klein said he did receive an Email from the Attorney General regarding the opinion regarding the Wood River tax question. He has not reviewed it yet. He will forward the information to Greg Cramer. The opinion is a public document and he will also forward it to the board members. He will put it on the agenda for the next county board meeting. Sheriff Berlie said he has been look at the vehicle amount budgeted for the purchase of the Vehicles. In the past they would purchase the vehicles one year and then equip them the following year but now they need to get the vehicles on the road. They have 4 5
