Quandt sated they met with a landowner by Giltner and Doniphan Road regarding cleaning out a ditch they talked to the landowner and ask what he thought could be done to solve the problem. He seemed satisfied with the work that has been done and it will work for the county. They were concerned about flooding. There is natural drainage and they are farming the ditches so the drainage does not happen as fast it takes longer for the water to go away. Lancaster ask if it would be a problem but don said this will get the water there a little slower. Don stated that Mason and Robb completed the first 2 weeks of bridge class and it was more in depth the next part is more hands on. He also reported he sent 11 employees to the LTAP training and they were able to use the simulators he appreciates having the state work with them. Don said if you need to get ahold of the Road Department they are drying out a wet spot and the phone lines were cut they are repairing the phone lines. Century Link was bought out by Lumen and they want permits to put in 31 miles of DSL in the county right of way. Don said he wants to meet with them and wants a contact person. They have had problems with Century Link and it hard to get them out so before they do any more permitting hey need to have a contact to talk to. Need to get some issues resolved before the issue any permits. Scott Sorensen said he talked to Jeremy with US Fish and Wildlife Service and he is involved in the criminal investigation. If it was criminal this would be referred to the biologist there is no significant impact at this time to move the gate. Don showed a picture there was an eagle sitting in the tree that issue is good to go for now. Richardson ask if he has 2 going to bridge school and Don said he does there were 2 openings. The 2 employees volunteered and the state had 2 openings need to have someone down the line with a license. They have 5 years of apprenticeship to get their license so it is important to get them going and have someone in place for the future. He also noted that LTAP does not charge for any of the training they also reimburse the county for any meals and lodging so there is no cost to the county. Don said he did receive a letter from Bob Barker regarding a drainage problem he met with him on the 22nd and addressed the problem and will get the attorney up to speed the problem was addressed and taken care of. Quandt noted the employees are taking care of the problems and keeping people satisfied. 5
