PUBLIC WORKS UPDATE — Highway superintendent Don Robb stated they that he <br /> has talked to Chris Wissing regarding the road to the proposed sports complex they will <br /> do some traffic counts ad may have to put in a roundabout. There is a lot of traffic and <br /> they do not want to cause problems. He reported that they finished Old Potash Road <br /> and 90th Road and are cleaning out ditches. They are doing patching on Chapman <br /> Road and did cut some of the trees on Platte River Road. <br /> They have removed the concrete around the fuel pumps but on the south area by the <br /> office and the shop area they will hire a subcontractor to do this it will be cheaper than <br /> they can do it. It will be $4,800 but that will be paid from his budget. Chief is to start the <br /> concrete around the fuel pumps Monday. <br /> He will be sending some employees to some training this is through the university and is <br /> here in Grand Island. He will also be sending 2 employees Robb and Mason to a 2 <br /> week bridge school class so they can get their licenses. It usually takes 5 years to get <br /> the license <br /> 15. DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE ACTION TO APPROVE PURCHASE OF VICTIM <br /> NOTIFICATION INTERFACE — IT Director Dough Drudik and Quinn Webb Assistant <br /> Corrections Director were present. A copy of the agreement with Motorola Solutions in <br /> the amount of $60,113.78 was provided. The state is dumping this on the county. It <br /> would require half of it upfront year one and years 2 to 5 for the maintenance. It is an <br /> interface from Spillman that provides victim notification when inmates are released. In <br /> the past the Crime Commission used a different interface and they decided to stop <br /> paying for the system. It is a cost saving to the state but it just passed the costs to the <br /> county. The Crime Commission has discussed this with Motorola for many months and <br /> have agreed to have them develop the interface. This is an unfunded mandate but the <br /> ramifications and reporting requirement require that they move forward with this or find <br /> something similar but we may not have time to do that. <br /> Quinn stated this has been going on for 2 years and the county has a deadline of <br /> January 2023.
