HUMANE SOCIETY PRESENTATION DOG BITE IN ADMINISTRATION <br /> BUILDING PARKING LOT - Morgan Moore, the lead animal control officer was present. <br /> Quandt said that on August 18th a pit bull husky dog grabbed this hand when he was <br /> coming into the Administration Building and was barking at him. Gary said he was afraid <br /> to move because he felt he would bite him again. A lady that was in the parking lot <br /> called 911 and they responded. He wants to inform the public and the employees what <br /> to do if this should happen. He also expressed concern if the dog had shots. <br /> Morgan stated that if there is a dog at large you should call the Humane Society. He <br /> said this dog has not had a bite case so it was not deemed dangerous. If a dog is <br /> deemed dangerous there are restrictions. If a dog is running loose he owner can get a <br /> citation. If an individual is bit you can seek medical attention and then the owner is to <br /> hold the dog for 10 days. He also noted that it is cheaper to get the dog shots then to <br /> have an issue like this. <br /> The video was shown and gay said the dog ran at him. Morgan said this dog is a <br /> runner and the people are on notice. They have 20 day to get the dog vaccinated. <br /> Lancaster said she appreciated that they are here. Gary was upset and there was a <br /> small boy that was also upset. <br /> Morgan has been with the Humane Society for 3 years and he is the lead officer they <br /> are learning how to enforce the state and city codes and the number of citations that <br /> they can issue have tripled. He has 2 full time officers. <br /> The humane society is open 8:00 a.m.to 5:30 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday 8:00 a.m. <br /> to 4:30 p.m. They are also available for emergency calls. <br /> 6A.0OUNTY ATTORNEY —A) DISCUSSION REGARDING GIPS TRUANCY <br /> AGREEMENT - County Attorney Marty Klein was connected to answer question via <br /> Zoom. He stated that he had concerns that this could happen. There was $40,000 in <br /> revenue that was part of the interlocl agreement. Mr. Klein noted that he is currently <br /> working one attorney short and this would be the attorney that would go to the school <br /> system. He said he may not be hiring anyone soon he does not have any applications <br /> at this time. He talked to his current attorney staff and no one was interested. He is <br /> currently asking to hire a fulltime attorney but the position is still open. He stated he <br /> worked in this position when he started with the county attorney's office and it is still <br /> open. <br /> Bredthauer noted in June County Attorney Marty Klein , Judge Cory and Judge Wetzel <br /> came to the board with a request to hire a JDAI coordinator. The judges have so many <br /> cases and noted one day they heard 93 juvenile cases. Bredthauer stated that at the <br /> time she mentioned that the office of Violent Crime Prevention awards grants and <br /> suggested that they should consider applying. The grant had to be submitted by July 8th <br /> 6 <br />
