County Attorney — Marty will be available by zoom regarding item 6a on the GIPS <br /> truancy discussion. <br /> B) DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE ACTION REGARDING LAWSUIT CASEY ARNDT <br /> PERSONAL REP FOR PAUL ARNDT VS. UNION PACIFIC RAILROAD COMPANY <br /> Deputy County Attorney Sarah Carstensen stated that this was a tort claim and now <br /> they are fling a lawsuit against Hall County. She is requesting approval from the board <br /> to engage NIRMA to assist with this to represent Hall County. <br /> Quandt made a motion and Sorensen seconded to approve NIRMA o assist with the <br /> lawsuit for Casey Arndt. Bredthauer, Hurst, Lancaster, Quandt, Peterson and Sorensen <br /> all voted yes anno one voted no. Richardson was absent. Motion carried. <br /> D) HANDBOOK UPDATE — Sarah reported that Corrections Sheriff Road and the <br /> clerk's office representative met two separate days and reviewed the handbook there <br /> was excellent input regarding the revisions. Now she will have Pam Bourne review it <br /> then bring it to the board for approval. <br /> C) DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE ACTION REGARDING LEAVE POLICY POTENTIAL <br /> TO DONATE VACATION LEAVE — Sarah ask if the board wants to pursue this policy. <br /> There are companies that have policies like this. It was a donation group and there is <br /> some risk involved. She ask if the board wants to move forward. <br /> Lancaster said this was discussed as an option and there was also discussion regarding <br /> a type of disability policies. Conley stated that currently the County offers 2 individual <br /> insurance plans that do offer disability policies. <br /> 9. DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE ACTION REGARDING REQUEST FROM HALL <br /> COUNTY BUILDING INSPECTOR TO SET UP CREDIT CARD PAYMENTS — <br /> Lancaster stated this will be pulled until Denise Kozel is available. <br /> 11. PUBLIC WORKS —C) DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE ACTION DECLARING ITEMS <br /> SURPLUS AT THE ROADS DEPT. — Don Robb provided a list of the surplus property. <br /> He said there was one pup trailer that was damaged and they are using the parts for <br /> other repairs but they can still sell it as a trailer. There are also 2 homemade <br /> dumpsters, a reciprocating saw, and 3 other containers. <br /> Sorensen made a motion and Quandt seconded to declare the items as surplus. <br /> Bredthauer, Hurst, Lancaster, Quandt, Peterson and Sorensen all voted yes anno one <br /> voted no.
