Don stated he can work either way he would just like to get it done quicker. Discussion <br /> was held. <br /> Quandt made a motion and Hurst seconded to award the bids to Contech for both <br /> projects. <br /> Sorensen ask if with the September 7 delivery time could they get the tubes done it is a <br /> double tube but Don said there is a concrete box culvert underneath and that has to be <br /> removed the shortest time would be 2 weeks and they will raise the pipes 2 feet that will <br /> take some time when they get the tubes they will be ready to go. Don said that they will <br /> wait until they have the tubes on site to make sure they were thee and make sure the <br /> tubes are OK and if you tear it out and do not get the tubes people would not be happy. <br /> Gary ask if they could get the dirt work done. <br /> Sorensen stated he is all for saving money but they have had some issues with the <br /> tubes coming in damaged and that is not a good idea until they get the tubes. <br /> Karen also noted that some of the tubes have been bent. <br /> Lancaster questioned if the county should consider this company. Don stated that they <br /> did have a representative out yesterday and they have addressed the concerns. These <br /> are an economical tube but Don said he is holding them tight on the date and the other <br /> ones they can work with them. <br /> The vote on the motion to accept the bid from Contech Construction for Projects C40 <br /> (493) and C40 (497) was taken. Bredthauer, Hurst, Lancaster, Quandt, Peterson, <br /> Richardson and Sorensen all voted yes and no one voted no. Motion carried. <br /> PUBLIC WORKS UPDATE Don reported that they are hauling dirt on Loup River Road <br /> for the clay top. <br /> The 3 motor graders are in at Murphy the first ones are here they will get the tomorrow <br /> and Aare working on change out the machines <br /> Don said he has discussed lighting on Highway 11 and Airport Road and Highway 30 <br /> and Wood River Road. LTAP is putting them up on one of their programs if the state <br /> likes it they are looking at a state program and this could be an 80/10/10 match. <br /> He reported that the tubes are in at Lakeside resident worked well. <br /> Next meeting they want to set the bid for the parking lot. He has a rough bid for the <br /> budget Purpose and they are proposing that it will be 8 inch concrete with rebar. <br /> Quandt expressed concern on the fact that it is concrete. <br /> 9 <br />
