had 1 person but they now have 3 people and it has improved. They need to set their
routine. He has sent them E mails on concerns and they have been addressed. Loren
said his employees have had to stock toilet paper and paper towels but they have 3
good employees now.
Sorensen noted the concerns from County Attorney Marty Klein he is concerned that a
county attorney is expected to take out trash. He also noted that District Court has
closed at 4:30 in order to do the cleaning. This is a concern for the public and has not
been received well.
Lancaster said here are 2 issues if they are doing a good job and suggested there
should be a check list for each building to the cleaning crew. She noted concerns on
the new budget, the salaries and benefits will be coming out of our savings. This was
an attempt to ask people to join in to help save dollars. They need to know what is
expected of them.
Bredthauer expressed concern that the District Court office is closing and noted that the
bid last year was $10,000.00 and the new vendor came in with the same amount for the
modified bid and that bid is half of the total square feet. Discussion was held to put this
on the agenda for further discussion. Lancaster noted the idea was to cut the costs.
C) DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE ACTION ON COURTHOUSE BENCHES Mr. Humphrey
said he and Gary they looked at the benches and a way to secure them. They may
need new boards to fasten them to. Loren said he does not know the cost but it will be
cheaper than the new benches.
Peterson stated the county will have budget challenges and it would be worth it to try it.
It is a good idea but it may not be a permanent fix. Loran said it is up to the board.
Richardson expressed concern that they may be just delaying this and things are
getting more and more expensive. She ask how new benches would be attached.
Loren said the new benches would have a wider base to make them more stable and
they would be professionally installed.
Lancaster the current benches are like theater chairs there are individual seats, the
issue is that they are not fixed to the floor and can that be fixed. There has not been
anything done for 10 to 12 years and they need to consider that it will not affect the
service to the public. The new benches are $9,000.00. Loren said they have been
moved around to avoid the current holes. Loren said new boards will fix what needs to
be fixed.
Peterson ask if he can come back with some numbers.
Sorensen said this may be a band aid fix, Scott said he would like to look at them.
5
