DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE ACTION FOR PER MILE REIMBURSEMENT FOR <br /> USE OF A PERSONAL VEHICLE OR MOTORCYCLE — Doug Drudik said he used the <br /> state language regarding the reimbursements for mileage for employees. They are on <br /> the go constantly and the IT Department does not have a vehicle to use. They did have <br /> a van from the Corrections Department but the condition was questionable and it is not <br /> being used. If they us their own vehicles they will need to keep a log and he would <br /> encourage them to limit the number of trips and set up a schedule. The mileage rate <br /> will be $0.2.5 effective July 1, 2022. Discussion was held on the motorcycle rate. <br /> Lancaster made a motion and Sorensen second to allow the per mile reimbursement for <br /> the use of personal vehicle as per the standard state rate. . <br /> Bredthauer noted these are work related trips and there would need to be a day time <br /> log. The log cold be attached to the claim. Discussion was held and the handbook does <br /> not address in town travel. Lancaster stated this needs to be reviewed. <br /> Lancaster pulled her motion and Sorensen pulled his second. This will need to be <br /> addressed in two weeks. <br /> 11.DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE ACTION FOR "CALLED IN FOR WORK" THE <br /> EMPLOYEE SHALL BE PAID NO LESS THAN THE EQUIVALENT OF TWO HOURS <br /> PAY AT THE BASIC WAGE RATE - IT Department employees may be called after <br /> hours to address computer issues that have to be addressed. Frequently they can <br /> address these issue by phone but it is still a disruption when they are not at work. The <br /> county handbook address this that if called in there to be paid 2 hours at their regular <br /> rate. Doug noted that sometimes the issues can be resolved in 15 minutes and <br /> suggested to pay for 1 hour and if it goes past 1 hour to pay for 2. <br /> Deputy County Attorney Sarah Carstensen said if we even call an employees to discuss <br /> work they are to be compensated for that time and that has been the policy for the <br /> county attorney if they are called in to the office they are paid for 2 hours. <br /> Discussion was held if it is for hourly employees or salaried employees. Doug stated <br /> these employees are hourly employees. He also stated that sometimes if they work <br /> after hours it is not enough to be picked up in payroll.
