Lancaster we want to make sure we sped the dollars or Hall County will not benefit. He
will get more information.
Mr. Humphrey stated that the appeal letter to FEMA was sent and he found that after
July 1st you can apply for another grant for PPE and the COVID issues would be at
90% reimbursement. He will follow up on this information.
Peterson stated that the county is behind on projects and issues on bridges that have
been put off and it would be smart to look at this. Lancaster said she agrees we have
not even started to the address the projects.
E) COURTHOUSE LEAK INFORMATION - Mr. Humphrey said that from the storm
damage last spring that is to be completed there is one ceiling that has some damage
from the leak in Judge Butler's court room. The roof was patched but it has not been
completed.
Lancaster noted the contractor placed something over the roof and there should be
some responsibility on their part to finish the repairs. It should be a shared
responsibility.
Quandt noted that they adjusted the air flow in the building during COVID to bring in
more fresh air. They did have to turn that down. Loren stated you can adjust the air
flow back and forth.
Quandt expressed concern on the overhang on the roof vents and ask if there was
snow getting in. He also expressed concern that that the screws were pulled out
because of the wind. They need to secure them better. He is concerned that it was not
engineered right. Loren stated that there is enough air pressure to prevent the snow
from coming in. He also said there is a lot of water standing on the edge.
f) DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE ACTION CONTACTING AN ENGINEER REGARDING
ADMIN BUILDING HVAC SYSTEM —Mr. Humphrey stated that he did talk to an
engineer regarding the HVAC system in the Administration Building. He expressed
concern that currently the boilers in this building would not pass code. There is a
consideration to put the equipment in a separate building outside. They would have to
take out a tree and it would be located by the vault area in this building. There would
also have to be a new water system. This is just one idea they ae looking at. The
engineer he talked to said it could take until January to draw up the plans. An estimated
cost could be $2 to $4 million.
Quandt said we will need to take proposals from engineers. Metal is starting to come
down and he would like to go out for proposals.
4
