Lancaster stated the county can use the ARPA funds for this project it fits in the
requirements. The board could dispense with the local rules and use the state bidding
requirement and use the ARPA funds.
Peterson noted one issue if when they can get the equipment and it could be a year out.
Loren noted there could be delivery issue and price guarantees.
Lancaster ask if a quote is adequate.
Sorensen made a motion and Bredthauer seconded to have Mr. Humphrey come back
to the board with 3 quotes. Bredthauer, Hurst, Lancaster, Quandt, Peterson,
Richardson and Sorensen all voted yes and no one voted no. Motion carried.
D) DISCUSSION REGARDING ADMINISTRATION BUILDING HVAC SYSTEM — Mr.
Humphrey reported that the HVAC in the Administration Building has been down for 2
days and Honeywell was here to make repairs. They do need to buy one piece of
equipment at about $2,500.00 this should be here in a week and hey will come out and
install it. He noted that things are starting to wear out and when the board decides to do
this project he will contact an engineer. The approximate could be about one million
dollars.
Bredthauer ask if it would be a roof top system. Loren stated it would be a completely
new system and would be more efficient. The current system uses radiant heat. He
said there are new and more efficient systems to heat and cool buildings.
Lancaster thought this has been discussed there would have to be ductwork the motion
was made to move forward this building is 40 years old.
FACILITIES UPDATE - Loren stated the county has been billed for the first payment
from the city for $474,205.88 for the airport project. It seems to be moving along well
and they are burying the pipe lines. The wells will be shut down so they can build the lift
stations. He noted how deep the holes were there is an 8 foot diameter tube with the
pump inside. They have a way to go.
Gary noted the amount of construction equipment at the airport.
Loren stated he is working with the new janitorial people and has been calling every
other day to get the contract and he background checks. He needs to have a local
contact person and address some issues. He will keep the board posted. He will need
to purchase some equipment and cleaning supplies and trash bags and address how it
will all be handled.
Peterson ask Doone to report back in 2 weeks.
