Buildings and Grounds Committee <br /> Mr. Deitemeyer gave the report. Buildings and Grounds Committee held a meeting on February 3rd, <br /> 2022. The maintenance team continues to work diligently on the Taylor House. The original doors from <br /> the house are being stripped and will be used on the final product. Siding for the house is on order. The <br /> Glaciarium closed for the season early. A windstorm took down the fence that was setup around the ice <br /> rink. Damage may have occurred, but the museum will reevaluate the fencing for next season. <br /> Education Committee <br /> Dr. Dexter reported. The Education Committee held a meeting on February 10th, 2022. New instructors <br /> for HATS classes have been hired and trained for upcoming classes. The Education Committee has been <br /> reviewing the "HATS"name and the courses. A subcommittee is being created to meet with education <br /> professionals to review the school curriculum to improve the HATS curriculum. <br /> Collections Committee <br /> Mr. Deitemeyer gave the report. The Collections Committee held a meeting on February 8th, 2022. <br /> One item, a quilt, was presented to the committee for accession to the collection. The Collections <br /> committee made the recommendation to reject the item as it is a repeat of items that the museum already <br /> holds in the collection. The Collections Committee made the motion to reject this donation, Mr. Allen <br /> seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br /> The Committee reviewed 1,144 items for deaccession; 279 for transfer, 104 to destroy, 438 for auction <br /> and 134 to keep. See list on the Deaccession Proposal form in board packet. The Collections Committee <br /> made the motion, Mr. Allen seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br /> EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR'S COMMENTS <br /> Mr. Hochstetler referred the board to his written report. He discussed the historic revenue and <br /> expenditures. Managed growth continues and is proving to work. Mr. Hochstetler also reminded The <br /> Board that Ms. Jessica West, Director of Culinary Arts, will be attending Taste of Grand Island to <br /> represent the Stuhr Bistro and Catering at Stuhr Museum. <br /> FOUNDATION REPORT <br /> Mrs. Cook reported that the Foundation Board developed a gift acceptance policy which will be <br /> approved at the next meeting. In the previous meeting, The Foundation Board approved the new <br /> Foundation Executive Director succession plan, updated employee handbook, and updated Foundation <br /> bylaws. Mrs. Cook also stated that the board is bringing back items that had been tabled due to COVID. <br /> Mrs. Smith briefly reviewed her submitted report over the phone. <br /> STRATEGIC PLAN REPORT AND DISCUSSION <br /> Mr. Hochstetler referred the board to Initiative 1.a, Diversify Funding Sources, in the Strategic Plan to <br /> discuss and review. <br /> ADJOURNMENT <br /> Ms. Nolan Brown adjourned meeting at 3:55p.m. <br /> Next meeting, fourth Monday, April 25th, 2022, at 3 p.m. —Finance Committee at 2:15 p.m. <br /> Respectfully recorded by Jennifer Sims, Events, Volunteer, and Membership Manager and recorder. <br />
