They budgeted $40,000.00. It will also be 4 to 16 months before they get the mower.
They do not have to pay for it now.
Discussion was held and Lancaster suggested to move it to the equipment reserve fund
for a future purchase. Karen stated this is also a safety issue.
The vote on the motion to purchase the mower was taken. Bredthauer, Hurst,
Lancaster, Quandt, Peterson, Richardson and Sorensen all voted yes and no one voted
no. Motion carried
12C) DISCUSSION & CONSIDERATION OF APPROVAL OF INTER-LOCAL
AGREEMENT WITH CITY FOR RESURFACING WORK ON OLD POTASH HIGHWAY
EAST OF ENGLEMAN ROAD — Mr. Robb stated this this is an interlocal agreement
with the City of Grand Island. There is 375 feet that the county would need to do and it
is easier to pick this up while the city is working there. When they are doing short
pieces they have some asphalt product in stock with Gary Smith Construction. They did
get a good price on it. It will not get any cheaper it depends on the contract and when it
was purchased.
Quandt expressed concern on the cost and oil how much can be purchased.
Mr. Robb stated you have to pick and choose. They did the asphalt bids earlier and
they did get a really good rate from Gary Smith at about $55.00 and J.I.L. was about at
$71.00.
Bredthauer said we were fortunate that we did the asphalt bids early.
Sorensen made a motion and Bredthauer seconded to approve the interlocal agreement
with the City on resurfacing work on Old Potash Highway. Bredthauer, Hurst,
Lancaster, Quandt, Peterson, Richardson and Sorensen all voted yes and no one voted
no. Motion carried.
12D) DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE ACTION TO APPROVE INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT
WITH BUFFALO COUNTY FOR 2 CULVERT PROJECTS ON WISEMAN ROAD — Mr.
Robb stated they ordered the culverts and some have been delivered. They have
ordered ahead on the culverts. Buffalo County will supply one and Hall County will do
one. It needs to be done as soon as possible.
Sorensen stated that they also had another culvert fail.
Sorensen made a motion and Bredthauer seconded to approve the interlocal agreement
and replace the 2 culverts. Bredthauer, Hurst, Lancaster, Quandt, Peterson,
Richardson and Sorensen all voted yes and no one voted no. Motion carried.
Don noted there a couple projects they need to consider and determine whether to use
box culverts or tubes. That will determine what is put in
8
