17. A - PUBLIC WORKS DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION APPROVING <br /> MOTOR GRADER PURCHASE ORDER AND AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO SIGN. <br /> Carstensen stated new wording was updated. Lancaster stated that she had <br /> concerns and would be voting no. Quandt asked about delivery. Sorensen stated <br /> the original date was 4-5 months so it should be about April or May for delivery. <br /> Quandt asked for a roll call vote. <br /> Motion by Hurst, second by Richardson. <br /> Bredthauer Yes, Hurst Yes, Lancaster No, Peterson Yes, Richardson Yes, Quandt No <br /> and Sorensen Yes. 5 yes votes and 2 no votes. Motion carried. <br /> 17. F - PUBLIC WORKS DISCUSS AND CONSIDER CHANGE ORDER FOR <br /> BRIDGE PROJECT C40 (372) AND AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO SIGN. Sorensen and <br /> Bredthauer gave an update on bridge projects. <br /> Motion by Sorensen and Bredthauer seconded to approve change order up to <br /> $30,000, rBredthauer, Hurst, Lancaster, Peterson, Richardson, Quandt and Sorensen <br /> all voted yes. No one voted no. Motion carried. <br /> 17. PUBLIC WORKS UPDATE — Sorensen and Bredthauer gave an update to the <br /> board. Tree issues at intersections have been removed free of charge. The Roads <br /> department have a few out sick from COVID. They are working on signage and <br /> repairs. In the office the fuel system is back online which has been down for <br /> several months. The office staff is playing catch up but Janet and Kelly are working <br /> well together and getting the office back on track. They will wait to hire the <br /> secretary position when there is more time for training. The purchase of the 2 pup <br /> trucks has been a great addition to the department. <br /> 18. DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION ON INTERVIEWING FOR THE <br /> HIGHWAY SUPERINTENDENT AT THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT. <br /> Sorensen stated that letters were sent out to all individuals who currently hold a NE <br /> Superintendents license which resulted in a few qualified applications. They <br /> recommend interviewing 2 individuals. Interviews are scheduled for February 1, <br /> 2022 beginning at 3:30PM in the board room. <br /> Motion by Sorensen, second by Quandt to hold interviews February 1, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. <br /> Bredthauer, Hurst, Lancaster, Peterson, Richardson, Quandt and Sorensen all voted <br /> yes. No one voted no. Motion carried. <br /> 19. D— FACILITIES DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION ON JUDGE CORY'S BENCH <br /> REMODEL. Doone stated they had 4 bids, however 3 backed out leaving only one bid from <br /> Shada Construction of $5,500.00 Doone stated it was a reasonable bid and recommended <br /> approval. Motion by Sorensen, second by Hurst to accept the bid from Shada Construction <br /> for$5,500.00. Bredthauer, Hurst, Lancaster, Peterson,Richardson, Quandt and Sorensen <br /> all voted yes. No one voted no. Motion carried. <br /> 10:46 AM —Quandt was excused from the meeting. <br /> 4 <br />
