The quote was $2,500.00 it is a <br /> covering for the glass that would identify the building department. <br /> Quandt stated he has been out there and there was no one to answer the door. Discussion was <br /> held and they will need to come back with other options in 2 weeks. <br /> 18. DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE ACTION ON MOTOR GRADER BIDS —Quandt questioned <br /> how they were going to pay for the motor graders. They proposed to buy 3 graders with the 5 <br /> year maintenance plan but he questioned how the payments were to be made. Scott stated the <br /> payments would not be until November 2022 and there was a proposal from John Deer finance <br /> and this is from the state bid. These are all pre negotiated contracts. <br /> Lancaster stated that the Chair is to sign the contracts and the county has used state bid <br /> contracts in the past. <br /> Richardson stated this was discussed at the last meeting and expressed concern that this is not <br /> necessary. <br /> Quandt stated he would like to propose to borrow the money from the inheritance fund and then <br /> pay it back. <br /> Sorensen said he is confident with the bids and does not want to lease the machines. The <br /> Komatsu machine is 2 sizes smaller. They need to look at it and see what is appropriate. <br /> Lancaster expressed concern using the inheritance fund they are short lived. The interest was <br /> 2.18%. <br /> Richardson said to leave it the way it is and use the state bid. <br /> Peterson suggested that Sarah look at the contracts and see if there is a prepayment plan. As <br /> far as the purchase of the grader that was decided last time. He stated that he appreciates the <br /> job Scott has been doing he has stepped forward on all issues. <br /> Bredthauer said she also do not agree with leasing and noted that the county purchased the <br /> skid steer for the road department and now they have 900 hours on them they have had to <br /> replace tracks and pay for maintenance. The leasing would have been better. <br /> Quandt said he bought this up because they may not get them for 6 months and it would save <br /> the interest on the payments. He is not against buying the graders but concern on the <br /> payments. Scott said he will bring this back in 2 weeks and get the contracts to Sarah. <br /> 16. PUBLIC WORKS- PUBLIC WORKS UPDATE SORENSEN & BREDTHAUER — Sorensen <br /> stated that Steve Riehle is working on an interlocal agreement for the Platte Valley Industrial <br /> Park. The Rod Department is working on cleaning out ditches and cutting trees. They are also <br /> cracking sealing the asphalt roads. He reported that the fuel system has been down and they <br /> hope that it can be fixed by the first of the year. They also put up the signs on Monitor Road <br /> according to the safety route inspection from NIRMA. They are also working on the <br /> specification for a bridge. They have been discussing the miles of road that need to be <br /> resurfaced and determining the order of the roads that need to be done and when they will be <br /> going out for bids for the resurfacing. The gravel contracts have been signed and sent out for <br /> signatures. The NACO conference will be held this week. <br /> 7 <br />
