Quandt made a motion and Sorensen seconded to appoint Sarah Carstensen as the <br /> contact person for the opioid settlement. Bredthauer, Hurst, Lancaster, Quandt, Peterson, <br /> Richardson and Sorensen all voted yes and no one voted no. Motion carried. <br /> 8. DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE ACTION ON HIRING PUBLIC WORKS ADMINISTRATIVE <br /> ASSISTANT - Sorensen stated that the board had the interviews and they would recommend to <br /> hire Kelly Olsufka as the administrative assistant. <br /> Sorensen made a motion and Hurst seconded to hire Kelly Olsufka effective January 3, 2022 for <br /> the administrative assistant. Bredthauer, Hurst, Lancaster, Quandt, Peterson, Richardson and <br /> Sorensen all voted yes and no one voted no. Motion carried. <br /> Peterson ask that the other applicants can be contacted to let them know that a decision has <br /> been made. <br /> 9. DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE ACTION ON CONTINUING TO ADVERTISE FOR THE HALL <br /> COUNTY ROAD SUPERINTENDENT - Quandt made a motion and Sorensen seconded to <br /> continue to advertise for the Hall County Road Superintendent. <br /> Karen agreed to do more advertising but to keep it under $1,000.00 and use other service for <br /> the advertising. <br /> Richardson stated she agreed. <br /> The vote was taken on the motion. Bredthauer, Hurst, Lancaster, Quandt, Peterson, Richardson <br /> and Sorensen all voted yes and no one voted no. Motion carried. <br /> 10. DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE ACTION ON HOLIDAY PAY FOR HALL COUNTY <br /> EMPLOYEES - Sarah Carstensen stated that she did talk to Pam Bourne and she <br /> recommended to stay with what the county has been doing. The motion was made at the last <br /> meeting to do so but Lancaster stated we appreciate the information from Pam Bourne. <br /> 11. DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE ACTION RURAL FIRE DEPARTMENTS REQUEST FOR <br /> ARPA FUNDS - Lancaster stated that she and Sarah reviewed this and that if the local entities <br /> did not receive funds they can apply directly to the State of Nebraska. They have funds for <br /> special purpose districts and it does include fire and water funding. <br /> Quandt made a motion and Sorensen seconded to send a letter to the fire departments to apply <br /> for funding for the air packs. Bredthauer, Hurst, Lancaster, Quandt, Peterson, Richardson and <br /> Sorensen all voted yes and no one voted no. Motion carried. <br /> Kim was ask to send a letter and to include the additional information. <br /> 13. DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE ACTION TO APPROVE RESOLUTION FOR PREMIUM PAY <br /> SALARIES - Sarah Carstensen stated that she is working on a resolution regarding the <br /> premium pay. This will include who would be eligible and employees that would not quality. <br /> Elected position, Weed Board members, and employees that would not meet the income <br /> thresholds. Employees would have to provide services and would be putting yourself at risk to <br /> qualify. It would include the unions but would not include employees who were not on active <br /> duty for a month. She wants to be careful crafting the resolution to make sure all employees are <br /> covered. <br /> 5 <br />
