Lancaster noted that the judges can order changes but they do no ask for a great deal <br /> and he must have reason to ask for this. <br /> Peterson made a motion and Bredthauer seconded to accept the quotes for the <br /> changes to Judge Corey's bench. Bredthauer, Hurst, Lancaster, Quandt, Peterson, <br /> Richardson and Sorensen all voted yes and no one voted no. Motion carried. <br /> FACILITIES UPDATE — Loren stated that they are preparing for winter. He submitted <br /> the park report and noted that they had a lot of first time visitors and people have been <br /> coming back to camp at the park. He said he is waiting for the report from Honeywell <br /> on the HVAC update and what can be done with the ARPA funds. He should have this <br /> in a couple of weeks. He also stated that they have been working on the back room <br /> getting the walls read to paint and then it should be ready. <br /> 4. COUNTY ATTORNEY — DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE ACTION REGARDING <br /> HOLIDAY PAY Deputy County Attorney Sarah Carstensen is attending by Zoom and <br /> she stated she does not have any updated information. She had talked to Pam Bourne <br /> but she has not replied. They are still working on the handbook and has not received it <br /> yet. The work comp has not been part of the handbook. The employees all need to be <br /> treated the same. <br /> Peterson noted that the work comp pay does not have any taxes taken out. <br /> Sorensen sated this need to be clear so there will not be any discussion in the future. <br /> Lancaster stated there cannot be a rule for everything but this needs to be part of the <br /> handbook. <br /> Bredthauer said the handbook is from 2010 that is now in place but there has been a <br /> precedence the way employees have been paid. Even with the new handbook it is not <br /> in place and all of the officials need to sign off on the new handbook. Mr. Stevenson <br /> needs an answer. <br /> Hurst made a motion and Peterson second to deny the holiday pay and follow the policy <br /> that the county has been following. Bredthauer, Hurst, Lancaster, Quandt, Peterson, <br /> Richardson and Sorensen all voted yes and no one voted no. Motion carried. <br /> 11. DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE ACTION REGARDING HALL COUNTY DEFERRED <br /> COMPENSATION PLAN Lancaster stated that item #11 regarding the deferred <br /> compensation will be addressed at a later date. If employees participate in this plan <br /> they would be able to move the retirement dollars to this plan and the state would <br /> manage the dollars. The county employees would see a better return. <br /> 7. PUBLIC WORKS UPDATE SORENSEN & BREDTHAUER - Sorensen stated they <br /> are continuing to work on the bridge on Sky Park road and there may be some change <br /> orders for the steel. They are also working the guard rails on bridges replaced. There <br /> are some culverts on North Road that will need to be replaced. They are also looking at <br /> the Platte River Valley Park to make sure that there will be sufficient drainage. They are <br /> 9 <br />
