Loren stated that there are 2 large rooms in the basement of the annex that could be <br /> used for storage. Discussion was held and he will get information to covert this area to <br /> storage. <br /> Bredthauer noted that College Park has room that they rent. She at that last month the <br /> gas bill was $15,000 and they just received a bill for $41,000 this is a concern. They are <br /> looking for grants to help with this. She ask Loren if he has seen any large bills and he <br /> said he has not seen any large increases. <br /> He stted that he contacted Honeywell to do an energy audit, they will be able to provide <br /> energy costs that will help with the ARPA funds. When you look at green energy they <br /> will know the system that would be more efficient and make recommendations. This will <br /> be at no cost to the county and they could help make recommendation for the bidding <br /> process. <br /> BID OPENING FOR COURTHOUSE PARKING LOT - Loren reviewed the bids and is <br /> recommending to accept the low bid from Diamond Engineering a $52,103.68. He <br /> stated they had budgeted $80,000.00 for the project. <br /> Hurst made a motion and Sorensen seconded to accept the bid from Diamond <br /> Engineering for $52,103.68. Bredthauer, Hurst, Lancaster, Peterson, Richardson and <br /> Sorensen all voted yes and no one voted no. Quandt was not present for the vote. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> COMMITTEE OR BOARD MEMBER REPORTS — Bredthauer stated she attend the <br /> NIRMA conference and there was a program on cyber ransoms. These ransoms are <br /> now higher than the drug dealers. She also noted that Region III had their system <br /> hacked and demanded a ransom. She has no idea why they would hack Region III. <br /> She also noted that there will be a new agreement for the EPC transports they will now <br /> be with Mary Lanning. She also stated they are trying to get in their 4th safety meeting <br /> they can apply for grants. <br /> Lancaster stated Sarah Carstensen received special recognition at the NIRMA for her <br /> assistance to NIRMA on possible litigation cases and on claims against the county. <br /> Sorensen stated that Cane Transit ridership is up for public transportation. He noted <br /> that this is public transportation and they appreciate the public's patience. He also <br /> stated he attended the NACO legislative conference and they talked about the change <br /> on the population requirements for the elected surveyor as a highway superintendent. <br /> Sarah did a good job with the presentation. They would like to see the population <br /> raised for omitted they will have to see what happens. <br /> Richardson reported that Stuhr is constructing an ice skating rink. They have a <br /> company that will provide the skates. This should also increase admission to the <br /> museum once it is completed. <br /> 9 <br />
