B) DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION ON COURTHOUSE EGRESS DOORS
Lancaster said that there was some concern that the egress would be an eyesore on
the Courthouse but said they are not.
Mr. Humphrey said that he attended a maintenance workshop and if the County would
have started this egress project last spring they would have had to be enclosed.
He stated that that the doors did leak during the last rain storm and he brought this to
the attention of Lacy Construction and they are recommending to change the thresholds
on the doors. This would involve approving a change order. He showed the county
board the proposed threshold it has a rubber strip that would go up against the door to
stop the rain. He is concerned because this would not be handicapped assessable.
He also had an eyebrow that could be placed on the top of the door. He also said they
do not have the alarms for the doors yet.
Sorensen stated that if it is necessary to use the emergency fire exit and they would
really need to get out they could. He suggested using both the eyebrow and the
threshold.
Discussion was held and Lancaster suggested to contact the Fire Marshal and get it in
writing if this would be allowed or not. This can be discussed again in 2 weeks
C) DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION ON MOWER BIDD — Loren stated that he
checked with dealers that would have this size mower and they said that if you were to
go out for bids now it could possibly be April before they could get one delivered. Loren
suggested getting the specifications and getting it advertised. He will come back in 2
weeks with the information.
Peterson ask if it had to be paid for when ordered and Loren said it does not have to be
paid until delivered.
Sorensen made a motion and Richardson seconded to move forward with the
specifications and bid information for the mower. Bredthauer, Hurst, Lancaster,
Peterson, Richardson and Sorensen all voted yes and no one voted no. Quandt was no
present. Motion carried
D) FACILITY UPDATE — Loren stated that when there was a water leak in Courtroom
#2 the baseboard was wet and when it dried it was warped. Lacey Construction made
the baseboard and replaced it. He said they did a very good job matching the existing
baseboard and staining it.
He noted that the one more room at the Annex building has been finished and is
available for use. The wellness clinic has been scheduled to be held there. There will
be requests for rooms for meetings and training. He said they are just waiting for the
computer equipment in the mental health hearing room.
8
