Loren <br /> said he understands they are to report what is spent each quarter. <br /> Loren stated that if the board is considering upgrades to the Annex and the Federal <br /> Building they need to consider how it is COVID related or how the infrastructure <br /> changes relate to climate change and sustainability. <br /> He also reported that the board had budgeted dollars for PPE and the amount may be <br /> short. He noted he dollars that correction is spending on a monthly basis. He is also <br /> asking for suggestions on the use for the Annex Building. <br /> Peterson noted that they have the mental health hearing rooms and also the Veterans <br /> Service Office uses some space. <br /> Lancaster stated that they cannot follow the social distancing in this board room and <br /> other in other meetings. The only outside space that is available is the Community <br /> Meeting Room at the Safety Center and that room is not always available. She also <br /> noted that this looks like a lot of money and it is a tremendous benefit to the county but <br /> there are a lot of needs and it will be used for the best interest of the taxpayer so we do <br /> not have to use local tax dollars. The need are shrinking the dollars. <br /> Loren stated that juvenile probation is growing and the county needs more space, space <br /> is never wasted. He would like some direction from the board on possible projects. He <br /> also noted that they need to improve the airflow on the HVAC systems and look at <br /> upgrades. <br /> Lancaster said the HVAC systems are at an age that they need to be replaced. Loren <br /> stated that with upgrades to the HVAC systems they ca increase the air flow in the <br /> buildings and the helps reduce the COVID transmission. When you increase the air flow <br /> then you have to heat the outside air. With the new system it is much more comfortable <br /> in the building. <br /> Lancaster aid that they have not forgotten that working on the ARPA funds is extra work <br /> and he needs to be compensated for the extra duties. <br /> C) FACILITIES UPDATE — Loren stated they are finishing up the Courthouse <br /> renovations but are still doing some painting. He said that there will be a change order <br /> on the fire suppression system when the plumber was running the main line from the <br /> street he had to go down another 2 feet to get under some other pipes that were already <br /> there. This may be an additional $1,500.00 but it was the only way it could be done. <br /> Loren reported that the concrete has been replaced at the County Attorney Building and <br /> the repairs were made to the brick wall. It is in good shape, <br /> 5 <br />
