They are suggesting to approve
the job descriptions as they currently exist.
Sorensen made a motion and Bredthauer seconded to approve the current job
descriptions. Bredthauer, Hurst, Lancaster, Quandt, Peterson, Richardson and
Sorensen all voted yes and no one voted no. Motion carried.
Hurst questioned what will happen to the current foreman positions and this will go back
to the committee for a recommendation.
15D) DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE ACTION TO MODIFY MANAGEMENT STRUCTURE
OF THE HALL COUNTY PUBLIC WORKS/ROADS DEPARTMENT TO BETTER
SERVE THE NEEDS OF THE COUNTY — Peterson made a motion and Bredthauer
seconded to have the committee come back with the management structure for the
Public Works Department. Bredthauer, Hurst, Lancaster, Quandt, Peterson,
Richardson and Sorensen all voted yes and no one voted no. Motion carried.
16.DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE ACTION APPROVING ROAD SIGNS FOR THE
PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT AS ROUTINE MAINTENANCE THIS DOESN'T
REQUIRE BOARD APPROVAL FOR PURCHASES OVER $5,000 — Sorensen he
brought this to the board so the purchase of the road signs can be considered routine
maintenance. It is easier to purchase the road signs in bulk and not have to come to
the board every time they purchase the signs. He is suggesting to allow purchasing the
signs as supplies and not have to go out for bids.
Lancaster noted that if the purchase is over $5,000.00 they are to come to the board for
approval. Line item 3-0304 in the Road Department budget has the dollars for the
purchase of signs.
Peterson suggested just limit the amount as per the budgeted line item. Discussion was
held.
Bredthauer made a motion and Sorensen seconded to purchase the signs as needed
and stay under the budgeted amount. This will be treated as routine maintenance.
Bredthauer, Hurst, Lancaster, Quandt, Peterson, Richardson and Sorensen all voted
yes and no one voted no. Motion carried.
17. PUBLIC WORKS UPDATE - NIRMA ROADS SAFETY ROUTE UPDATE — Steve
Said they recently placed delineators on the South Locust Bridge and he suggested that
the board take a look at them.
