He met with Ron Baldwin regarding the penalties on Wood River Road and he will come <br /> back with the fines. He is also working on the Cairo Road and he will come back to the <br /> board with the necessary action <br /> NIRMA did a sign inspection and they have trimmed trees and made some change and <br /> changed the chevrons on the curves by Doniphan to make them safer they added <br /> chevrons and linear markings to make it safer there are a number of curves and the <br /> speed limit is 35 MPH. . <br /> Gary Smith is doing the asphalt for city and a joint city county project. This includes a <br /> railroad crossing he is working with the railroad to get that started but it takes time when <br /> you work with the railroad. If he cannot get that done he may move over to 13th Street <br /> and do that project instead of Bismark. <br /> Bredthauer noted that there is a dead tree on Burwick and Airport Road there is some <br /> concern that the branches could come down or the tree could fall. They said this is a <br /> historic tree but wondered if they could look at it. Steve said it is a large tree that the <br /> people used as a land mark to find Cairo. The property owner is very particular about <br /> his lawn and they do not want to damage it. He will look at it. <br /> She also noted a bridge on Gunbarrel and Seedling mile and you can start to see holes <br /> Steve said he will work with Merrick County because they are responsible for the <br /> maintenance on that bridge <br /> Bredthauer ask for an update on the bridge match wanted to know where he is Steve <br /> has the structure hydrology done and he working on the profile and other plans and was <br /> work with the surveyor. He needs to get the plans to JEO and get the package <br /> together he has work to get done but hopes to make it for the bid opening. It is a tight <br /> schedule. <br /> Karen sated that Steve told her if they need to call Road department and it would <br /> transfer to his phone but when she tried to call on July 9th there was an old message on <br /> the phone from July 4 and it did not transfer to his phone wants to make sure when she <br /> calls she can get in touch with him Steve said they just missed changing the message <br /> that weekend. They can call his cell phone or call 911 and they can contact him. <br /> Lancaster suggested working with the historical society about the tree they may know if <br /> it is a historical marker. <br /> 6.9:45 A.M. BID OPENING FOR ALFALFA LEASE ON CAAP GROUND - Quandt made <br /> a motion and Sorensen second to open the bids for the alfalfa lease on the CAAP <br /> ground. Bredthauer, Hurst, Lancaster, Quandt, Peterson, Richardson and Sorensen all <br /> voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried <br /> County Clerk Conley stated the she did not receive any bids. <br /> 6 <br />
