5.9:30 A.M. BID OPENING FOR SOUTH LOCUST FARM LEASE - Quandt made a <br /> motion and Sorensen seconded to open the bid for the South Locust farm lease. <br /> Bredthauer, Hurst, Lancaster, Quandt, Peterson, Richardson and Sorensen all voted <br /> yes and none voted no. Motion carried <br /> The following bid was received <br /> BIDDER ANNUAL PAYMENT TOTAL FOR 5 YEARS <br /> Johna M. Niedfelt $ $6,610.00 $33,050.00 <br /> 3720 State Street Apr K6 <br /> Grand Island, NE <br /> Discussion was held that there was only one bid and Sorensen stated this is not a very <br /> desirable area. <br /> Peterson made a motion and Quandt seconded to accept the bid and award the bid to <br /> Johna Niedfelt. Bredthauer, Hurst, Lancaster, Quandt, Peterson, Richardson and <br /> Sorensen all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried <br /> PUBLIC WORKS UPDATE Steve he stated that the fracture critical bridge course was <br /> cancelled and another one in October in October but that is too late. They are offering a <br /> course in February in Nebraska. He talked to Howard, Buffalo and Adams County and <br /> Adams County has a person with the certification and he has talked to them about <br /> having then dot the inspections on our 10 fracture critical bridges to be inspected. He is <br /> going to work with them to see if they can do the inspections. This would be cheaper <br /> than hiring a consultant. Karen ask what the saving would be and he said about <br /> $22,000. <br /> Lancaster noted that Hamilton County had received a safety equipment grant and ask if <br /> he had applied. Steve stated that he did but it was denied they usually are award one <br /> grant per county. These are available from NIRMA. She would like to see that the <br /> county applies every year. <br /> Sheriff Conrad stated that they had applied several years ago but it was denied <br /> Steve need to contact them on the types of grant that NIRMA will fund he will check the <br /> calendar. He will come back to the board to apply for the fall tire grant. <br /> Karen noted we could not apply in the spring but can apply in the fall. Steve said they <br /> should be in line to get one and he said they also work with Clean Community systems. <br /> Steve said he hopes to go out for bids for the bridge on Sky Park in 2 weeks he is <br /> working on the shop drawing has to do some of the drawings by hand. He is working on <br /> the quarterly reports and working on the budget <br /> 5 <br />
