Congressman Smith is on the Ways & Means Committee senior member of that <br /> committee and proposing alternatives to the proposed tax reform cuts for children and <br /> the inheritance tax issues. The congressman opposes the 30 X 30 proposals there is <br /> not much information and negative issues on social media. <br /> Congressman Smith is pushing for the ability to use Health care pushing for ability to <br /> use telehealth the same as doctor visits. During the early days of pandemic it was <br /> scheduled to expire but there seems to be support on both sides. He supports the use <br /> of telehealth. <br /> Congressman wants to see the investigation of the issues with the USDA and the <br /> Department of Justice. He wants to see the finds based on fact. In 1948 the federal Government <br /> transferred all of the land building and property to the City of Grand Island. In March of <br /> 1970 all of the land building and property was transferred to Hall County to operate <br /> under the airport authority act. The exiting sewer system is under the jurisdiction and <br /> control under the Hall county Airport Authority. <br /> The sewer system was surveyed by video prior to 2017 and according to the report it is <br /> in poor shape due to settlement and sags liners have failed and disconnected from the <br /> pipes and the pumping stations are well beyond their useful life. In 2020 a Basis of <br /> Design report was prepared by HDR. <br /> • Dewatering will be about $2.5 million <br /> • Pump stations $700,000 <br /> • Manholes $10,000 <br /> • Add in several years of inflation cost will go up <br /> • <br /> The cost of the rental areas include the cost of the sewer system.
