The County Treasurer currently uses the MIPS program and NACO
pointed out this will be a good match.
Peterson stated that there is also the PMI fud from the Register of Deeds that can be
used for software. These are dollars that are collected with the doc stamp payments
and this may be a way to contribute to this process. Lancaster stated these fund are
coming in and there is no sunset yet.
Quandt stated we had the Vanguard program are we sure that this will work.
Lancaster noted that the auditors pointed out that the Assessor and the County
Treasurer cannot reconcile the books and this is a concern.
Richardson stated that there are no other options and this is the best option available. For now this will work.
Lancaster noted that Scott Sorensen is the liaison for the building department and this
will be referred to him. Scott stated that this is a good pickup for now but need to look
for the future.
5. 9:30 a.m. DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE ACTION REGARDING RESOLUTION FOR
NATIONAL HERITAGE AREA— Karen Bredthauer stated she did her homework on this
issue and provided the board members with information. She noted that there are now
32 counties that have approved this resolution she provided copies of the resolutions.
Governor Pete Ricketts is not in favor of this proposal and she read letter regarding this.
This is an attempt to take private ownership away from landowners and promote
3
