10
C) DISCUSS & RATIFY THE PURCHASE OF ADDITIONAL VOTO-MATICS TO
SUPPLEMENT ELECTION EQUIPMENT —Tracy stated that based on the pre-work on
the redistricting it will be necessary to add one more precinct after the 2020 census.
She currently has 210 Voto-matics and will need 250. She has looked at similar stand
up voting booths and they are made mostly of plastic and may not be as durable. She
wants to maintain the same type of voting equipment for each precinct. To replace all of
the units it could be from $67,600 to $175, 00.00. She was able to locate some used
Voto-matics through an eBay vendor at $50.00 apiece. She has processed a claim for
$2,500 this month to purchase the used Voto-matics. This was taken out of existing
funds from the election supplies line item. This will allow her to meet the needs for at
least 2 election cycles.
Peterson made a motion and Bredthauer seconded to approve the purchase of 50
Voto-matics to match the current equipment. Bredthauer, Hurst, Lancaster, Quandt,
Peterson, Richardson and Sorensen all voted yes and no one voted no. Motion carried.
11. FACILITIES —A) DISCUSSION &POSSIBLE ACTION REGARDING PROPOSAL
TO INSTALL DECOSHIELD COVER SYSTEM FOR FIRE SPRINKLE SUPPRESSION
PIPING - Mr. Humphrey stated that they are proposing to install this decoshield for the
fire suppression piping. They had proposed to paint the pipes so if the board approves
the shields there would be a deduct for the painting. This will be close to matching the
paint.
C) DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE ACTION ON LACY CONSTRUCTION CHANGE
ORDER — Quandt made a motion and Richardson seconded to approve he change
order for $3,050.00 for the Deco shield cover system. Bredthauer, Hurst, Lancaster,
Quandt, Peterson, Richardson and Sorensen all voted yes and no one voted no.
Motion carried.
B) DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE ACTION ON ROOF OF HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT
BUILDING — Mr. Humphrey stated they have had a couple companies look at the roof
and they can look at a metal roof or shingles. The metal will last longer and would not
leak but there has been a 38% increase and it could be as high as $150,000.00 that is a
rough estimate.
With the shingles they could use a rolled barrier that would prevent leaking and prevent
the wind damage. Discussion was held and Steve said it looks like the shingles are on
plain board with no felt paper. There should also be mechanical vents on the roof also.
There are also concerns that the flashing was not installed correctly they now have a
better process to install the flashing.
Bredthauer noted that the water ran down into the office and insulation. They have
been fixing it constantly and it is a mess.
10
