She is also proposing to place a marker at Hall County Park marking Shimmer's Lake that was once a premier place for people to go. They will start placing the markers in September 2022 through August 2023 and will address the funding. The total will be about $72,000.00 for all of the markers and there seems to be a lot of interest. There are single and double post markers. She need permission to place the marker at Hall County Park recognizing Shimmer's Lake. Quandt made a motion and Bredthauer seconded to approve the placement of a marker at Hall County Park. Bredthauer, Hurst, Lancaster, Quandt, Peterson, Richardson and Sorensen all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. Michelle also stated they received a grant from Burlington Northern so they will used that money to preserve the Ordinance Plant 3 newspapers and these will also be available on line. They are still working on the cemetery project there is still more to do. 11. PUBLIC WORKS- A) DISCUSSION & CONSIDERATION OF AWARDING BID FOR CULVERT MATERIALS FOR PROJECT C04(476) ON AIRPORT ROAD WEST OF 70TH ROAD - Steve Riehle stated the bid opening was held 2 weeks ago and he wanted to check the bids and also had concerns regarding the culverts because of the rain and it has sunk farther. He talked to Ace Eaton regarding the delivery date and also to Midwest Sales and Service. Midwest has a shorter delivery date. B) PUBLIC WORKS UPDATE - Steve stated there are still 2 culvert to be installed at Amick Acres. He revised the number and working to see if the work can be done in the existing right of way. They are working to get the pipes installed on the farm driveway and getting the ditch work done. They are working on getting the ditches cleaned out and will ask Merrick County to work on their side. But they will have to wait until it dries up. They have finished the crack sealing. They have also worked on the Homestead and Airport Road ditches cleaned out but the ground water is high and will have to wait until it goes down. Steve stated he spend time with J.I.L. and they used a 25 foot homemade bump buggy and if you do not go to fast it does a good job. They have checked the east bound side and will do the west bound side. They had purchased a grinder and then used a second grinder but now have a grinder that attaches to a skid steer and this give a smoother surface. If this work is satisfactory they will come back to the board and if approved move to Cairo. Quandt ask if they put oil down once this is done and Steve stated they use an emulsified asphalt mixed with water to seal the road. 5
