Discussion was held to have the crack sealing and applying the Salt Guard in house. <br /> The work on the process to widen the joints was done when the cuts were made. <br /> Sorensen stated he feels comfortable to have the staff do the joint sealing in house. <br /> Steve stated that it is a time issue to widen the cracks and he will ask Mid Plains what <br /> that will cost. <br /> Quandt expresses concern moving ahead on projects that were bid out. Sorensen <br /> stated this was not a bid it was additional work and it was done. <br /> Quandt made a motion to have Public Works get the final cost on the joint widening on <br /> the shop floor. No second. <br /> Richardson noted this is a timing issue and if they had to come back it could cost more. <br /> It would be good to know the cost. <br /> Quandt this is a change order and the board has not approved it. <br /> Lancaster it was agreed it should have been part of the bid and we need to be cautious. <br /> Quandt made a motion and Bredthauer seconded to go ahead with the joint sealing and <br /> the Salt guard application and come back with the cost. Bredthauer, Hurst, Lancaster, <br /> Quandt, Peterson, Richardson and Sorensen all voted yes and none voted no. Motion <br /> carried. <br /> 6.10:15 A.M. BID OPENING FOR JAIL SECURITY DOOR ACCESS SYSTEM — Quandt <br /> made a motion and Bredthauer seconded to open the bid for the jail security door <br /> access system. Bredthauer, Hurst, Lancaster, Quandt, Peterson, Richardson and <br /> Sorensen all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> One bid was received. Quandt questioned if the board wanted to open the bid if only <br /> one was received. <br /> Mr. Bahensky stated that he had talked to Brandon with IT and they looked through the <br /> companies and this project is very specialized. Todd stated they did have one other <br /> company inquire. This is specific to the current software. <br /> The following bid was received from Communications Engineering, Inc. in the amount of <br /> $14,888.00. <br /> Quandt made a motion and Bredthauer seconded the motion to accept the bid and refer <br /> it to the corrections director. Todd stated he will review the bid with Brandon. <br /> Bredthauer, Hurst, Lancaster, Quandt, Peterson, Richardson and Sorensen all voted <br /> yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> 6 <br />
