The contactor recommended a 2
part poly product that is mixed and leveled and becomes very hard. It makes the cracks
level so you can roll equipment over the cracks and it also protects the edges. They
recommended to widen the cracks and put in the sealant and also recommended the
first application of the Salt guard to protect the concrete. This is even used on bridge
decks. They would do the first application and in the future the staff would do additional
applications.
Quandt asked why this was not bid in the original contract and Steve stated they just bid
straight concrete. He stated this product will also take of diesel oil and if it needs
refreshed in a year or two they can do it themselves.
Sorensen stated they did cut the concrete but to use the sealant they have to widen the
cracks.
5
