She noted that there are some big projects in the spring and he wanted to <br /> have someone on board to work on them. <br /> Hurst stated they need to have the electrical certification if they have that then they can <br /> take the tests. They do have some applicants and they need to work with them. <br /> Peterson ask if they wanted to change the start date. He noted the changes that were <br /> made to the job description. They need to make it clear. <br /> Quandt ask if they have the electrical and they are hired what would happen if they <br /> cannot get the other requirements. <br /> Quandt stated that he does not want to train the new person. Discussion was held and <br /> the ICC is an open book test and should not be that difficult to obtain. They were <br /> concerned they did not get applications and that could be because of the salary. The <br /> salary was left as negotiable. <br /> Richardson noted the suggestion from Gary that the pay may need to be higher. She <br /> stated they do have one applicant that meets all of the qualifications. <br /> Peterson stated there is a cost to taking the ICC test. Discussion was held when they <br /> are interviewed, they could take the test and pass it to get the job. <br /> Lancaster questioned if they talked to the village mayors would they be will to pay more <br /> if they had to increase the salary. <br /> Quandt suggested if they meet the qualifications make the job contingent on getting the <br /> ICC certification and hold it open for 30 days. <br /> Peterson stated the current job description was unclear regarding the ICC certification <br /> discussion was held regarding the 30 days. <br /> Sarah stated they could be on probation until the requirements are completed. She <br /> suggested that they would have 30 days of the job offer to complete the ICC <br /> certification. <br /> Richardson stated it is no uncommon to make stipulations. <br /> Quandt stated we can't afford to train someone if they do not get the certification then <br /> they would have to start over.
