Quandt made a motion and Bredthauer seconded to authorize the chair to sign the
lease for the Bob Cat Skid Steer. Bredthauer, Hurst, Lancaster, Quandt, Peterson and
Richardson all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried.
Mr. Humphrey stated that he is working on the CARES grant for the Corrections
Department part and it was turned in yesterday.
Lancaster noted that there was a question on the DUNS number and it will be kept on
file the in the County Clerk's Office.
Mr. Humphrey stated that he broke his knee cap when he fell down the steps at the
Courthouse.
11. DISCUSSION AND POTENTIAL ACTION TO MODIFY THE COUNTY BUILDING
INSPECTOR JOB DESCRIPTION - Peterson stated they met last Wednesday but
Sarah and Alan felt the job description need to be clear and they made some
recommendation to adjust the job description. The issue with the paunch manure issue
need to be deleted and since there is not a personnel office so this falls on the county
board. There was concern on how to determine what would be reasonable and the one
area was the ICC certification. He question if they were hired and needed to have the
ICC certification how long would they be able to work on it. When the city hires they
have supervision and training.
Richardson ask Alan if they do not have the electrical certification if it should be
narrowed down to electricians with a license. There were questions if the state would
even do the inspections.
Lancaster noted that the state inspections may be a time issue, if or when the state will
do the inspection.
Richardson stated there should be some type of regulations if the state will or will not do
the electrical inspections.
Lancaster questioned if there was a big rush to get this done. Discussion was held they
could put an ad in NACO, Workforce Development and there is Zip Recruiter and other
internet job searches there are also 3 employment agencies in town. They could
contact the ICC International Code Counsel also. She noted there is still time and the
villages want this program.
Discussion was held regarding the salary and it has been left open.
Bredthauer suggested there could be an incentive program they could have a starting
salary and then address pay increases. If someone is more qualified they could pay
more.
5
