He also ask how many cases they <br /> have and Randy said it is consistent at 200 to 300 cases and he does not have any new <br /> employees. <br /> Randy See stated they currently have 1,785 square feet he noted that the smaller plan <br /> for the Federal Building has a vault area and a 400 square foot conference room so it is <br /> smaller. He also said now with COVID they need more area in the conference room. <br /> The larger area would give them more room. <br /> Bredthauer noted that probation continues to grow but his office has not grown if Randy <br /> would need more people would he have room. Where will they put probation if it keeps <br /> increasing? <br /> Randy stated that the number of probation cases continue to grow, they have longer <br /> caseloads and they have to hold it to a manageable number they just keep adding to <br /> probation and they need to have the office space. <br /> Lancaster stated that Connie Hultine did contact her around budget time that they will <br /> be needing the additional space. When the county purchased the Plaza Building they <br /> thought they would be able to put another county office in there but there is no more <br /> room. Discussion was held on the 2 plans. <br /> Richardson ask Randy how long the intake meetings are. <br /> Randy See Juvenile Diversion Director stated that when they do an intake interview it is <br /> sometime 1 1/2 hours long and because of COVID they need the additional space that is <br /> why they use the conference room instead of their offices. They have 3 officers and can <br /> only schedule one at a time. <br /> Richardson stated she felt the smaller plan would still have some room for expansion <br /> discussion was held and it was suggested to open up the one wall instead of blocking it <br /> off to allow for expansion. <br /> Richardson made a motion and Peterson seconded to use the smaller proposed plan <br /> for Juvenile diversion office and allow access to the additional space on the left hand <br /> side of the drawing with the estimated cost of$103,000 to $125,000. <br /> Hartman said they need to stop spending money. <br /> Mr. Humphrey stated that he talked to Connie Hultine last week and she stated that if it <br /> is too costly to remodel or it does not work out to move the office she would consider <br /> taking the space that was formerly occupied by the IRS office. She would need some <br /> office equipment and some cubicles but she could move some of her offices there. <br /> They may need to look at a long range plan. <br /> 6 <br />
