they could use sick leave, parent's that are out with kids due to school's being closed <br /> they would use vacation leave, unless child was sick then they could use sick leave. <br /> 5(a) CORRECTIONS DEPARTMENT-MINUTES OF MARCH 3, 2020 MEETING- <br /> Quandt made a motion to approve minutes Peterson seconded. Bredthauer, Hurst, <br /> Lancaster, Quandt and Peterson all voted yes, none voted no. Motion Carried. <br /> 5(b) and (C) CORRECTIONS DIRECTORS REPORT and DISCUSSION AND <br /> POSSIBLE ACTION REGARDING HOLDING OF DETAINEES FOR OTHER <br /> AGENCIES-Bahensky stated counts are high they are 280, they are working on getting <br /> numbers down to 80% level. Bahensky noted they are working with ICE and US <br /> Marshalls on getting numbers down. <br /> Quandt stated he had concerns with the numbers and that those numbers needed to go <br /> down to keep COVID-19 out of the facility, Quandt questioned Bahensky on how long it <br /> could take to get these numbers down. <br /> Bahensky stated hopefully 2 weeks but that he wasn't for sure because of challenges <br /> they face with other facilities as well. Bahensky stated he has 12 beds in single cell <br /> segregation unit and four beds in infirmary, Todd stated that just depending on what <br /> happens if COVID-19 gets in our community they would not allow visitors, and would do <br /> a facility lock down separating people out, Bahensky noted they are keeping an eye on <br /> the more at risk inmates the ones with health issues or over 60. Bahensky noted he is <br /> doing the best he can at this point and will have to figure it out and all work together. <br /> Quandt noted he is concerned about an inmate liability if we have positive cases in the <br /> jail. <br /> Peterson stated they just need to trust Todd's judgment and that he is capable and <br /> qualified to make his decisions on his numbers. <br /> Bredthauer agreed with Peterson <br /> Bahensky stated he is working on getting that number lowered the best he can and is <br /> trying to figure out how to manage it all. <br /> 5(d) APPROVE DISCONTINUING (NOT RENEWING) CONTRACT FOR INMATE <br /> PHONE SERVICE WITH SECURUS TECHNOLOGIES-Bahensky stated he still wants <br /> to communicate with Securus on a month to month phone service and then go out for <br /> bids later when safe to have others in the facility as they would have to come in building <br /> to look at the phone needs. <br /> Peterson made a motion to continue the service with securus and communicate with <br /> them on dis-continuing and when time to go out for bids. Bredthauer seconded the <br /> motion. Bredthauer, Hurst, Lancaster, Quandt and Peterson all voted yes and none <br /> voted no. Hartman and Richardson absent. Motion Carried. <br />
