B) DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE ACTION TO APPROVE PURCHASE OF CRUSHED CONCRETE FROM NITRO CONSTRUCTION INC. — Mr. Riehle stated that they used the crushed concrete to repair the roads and they use this instead of the limestone because it is cheaper. They now need to purchase more. They have a standard price for the concrete Nitro is $24.00 a ton and the others are $23.00 and it depends on the size Lancaster expressed concern on the bid price and Steve stated Nitro is the only one that has the crushed concrete. Quandt made a motion and Bredthauer seconded to approve the purchase of the crushed concrete from Nitro Construction. Bredthauer, Hurst, Lancaster, Quandt, Peterson, and Richardson all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried C) PUBLIC WORKS UPDATE — Mr. Riehle reported they received FEMA dollars from the March 2019 flooding and it has been deposited with the county treasurer. He reported that he is working with city on the drainage at Platte Valley Industrial Park there is a county rod ditch along Schimmer Road that needs to be cleaned out it is part of our project. The Safety Committee met and they have new chains and are trying how a tow rope to see how it works. Bredthauer stated that they are looking at the recommendations from NIRMA and how it will work all employees can contact the safety committee and Tim Baxter. Steve stated this has opened up good communications with management and the employees regarding safety concerns. It is another communication tool. Richardson ask if NIRMA suggests who should be on the committee and Steve stated they suggested on more management person. Discussion was held if this should be in the employee manual. COMMITTEE OR BOARD MEMBER'S REPORTS - Bredthauer stated she talked to Steve about the safety committee and she attended the State of the City address. Lancaster stated that the Secretary of State visited the Hall County Election office. 23. APPROVE REGULAR CLAIMS - Discussion was held on claim # 20020310. This is for a reimbursement for meals for a lunch in town. It is stated in the handbook it is to be an overnight stays or meetings out of town or meal reimbursements.
