Motion carried. <br /> The following bids were received <br /> BIDDER TOTAL BID COMPLETION DATE <br /> Advanced Climate Control $32,790.00 30 days <br /> Island Indoor Climate $25,175.00 10 days <br /> Jerry's Sheet Metal $31,800.00 12 days <br /> Kayl Heating &Air $32,500.00 21 days <br /> Meyer's Heating &Air Conditioning $16,000.00 30 days <br /> Quandt made a motion and Hurst seconded to refer the bids to Steve Riehle and Loren <br /> Humphrey. Bredthauer, Hurst, Lancaster, Quandt, Peterson, and Richardson all voted yes and <br /> none voted no. Motion carried <br /> PUBLIC PARTICIPATION — Marty Klein requested to address the board under public <br /> participation. He stated as an employee and citizen he ask if Hall County could switch the <br /> method for determining mileage from MapQuest to Google Maps. Google Maps is a better <br /> program. Lancaster stated that MapQuest was used in the past and employees are to start <br /> from the county building and are just required to have some type of mapping. <br /> 12. DISCUSSION REGARDING PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION HEARING — Bredthauer <br /> stated that Shawn Shepardson and Kris Dubbs want to thank the County board for what has <br /> been done on the train issues. Ms. Dubbs stated that the Public Service Commission hearing <br /> would have not happened without the help. The room w full and a lot of people did not speak <br /> but some sent letters. The trains are still parking and the whistle is blowing but they are making <br /> progress. <br /> Shawn stated that it was a long hearing and the commission has not met again. People were <br /> allowed to speak. The railroad suggested they may close the crossing but that doesn't even <br /> seem feasible. They will need to work with them to achieve a good outcome for the public. We <br /> need to work together. <br /> Bredthauer stated that closing that crossing would not work it would be difficult for emergency <br /> vehicles to get to areas. She stated she would not like to live by it and hope there is a good <br /> outcome. <br /> Lancaster thanked Mr. Quandt for contacting the commission and getting them to set up the <br /> hearing. <br /> 9. DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE ACTION REGARDING HIRING NEW EMPLOYEES — Lancaster <br /> she would like to ask department to hold off hiring new employees. They did have a meeting <br /> addressing the health insurance and ways to keep the cost down. <br /> 3 <br />
