Steve stated that the quality of the gravel was in <br /> the bid specifications and they're sampling the gravel. Some was coming in at 80% gravel and <br /> some was in the 76% range and 24% sand. They want good gravel and they stopped hauling <br /> gravel from the Cairo pit because of some concern and are now using gravel from the Minden <br /> pit. <br /> Steve stated that the Department of Roads will pick 4 or 5 bridges out of the central district area <br /> and the next round will be in December. They are working with FEMA and they have reconciled <br /> the costs and were only off 6 cents. He stated that January will be a busy month any bridge of <br /> 20 feet will be inspected and they have 39 bridges in January. They had some different crews <br /> working on the inspections and are using some forms from NIRMA. They will have a laundry list <br /> of work to do. <br /> Steve reported that the pipe for Amick Acres should be made and he went over the ditch design. <br /> The pipes were to be manufactured and when they are made will pick them up and put them in <br /> and will start as soon as they have them. He has talked the land leveler and looked at the <br /> excavation and the banking number and the length. They are also looking at the drainage on <br /> St. Paul Road and met with the farmer it drains into Silver Creek to the County Road and to the <br /> railroad ditch and look at it and may have to send a letter to the railroad. <br /> Quandt ask if they are doing the most critical parts first and Steve stated they are and will <br /> address the drainage into the two lakes. <br /> Bredthauer noted that Mr. Robb had cleaned out a ditch on the west side last year. Steve <br /> stated that was a drainage project built in the 1970s and 2 culverts were blocked and too low. <br /> Mr. Robb cleaned out the whole ditch and raised up the access road. <br /> Steve stated that the Regional Planning Commission will be bringing the subdivision that will be <br /> divided in Amick Acres for approval. Steve stated that is the only land that will be needed. <br /> Steve stated there is another drainage project on North Road and Airport Road and they still <br /> have to meet with the property owner and there is driveway culvert work to do. There is also a <br /> beaver damn that they may have to remove more than once but the property owner does not <br /> want them to go on the property. Steve stated he will look at the statutes and see what can be <br /> done but the county may have to pay damages. He said it may only be 2 or 3 thousand dollars. <br /> They also need to look at the elevation to see why it is backed up. <br /> Lancaster ask if there could be any reimbursement form FEMA and Steve stated there is but he <br /> does he does not remember the number. He will get the information. <br /> Steve stated that they enlarged the break area and move some items there is no insulation and <br /> are looking at new windows. He ask for quotes for the windows and hired a company to do that <br /> it is warmer now. He also reported that he has a contractor that has the resources for garage <br /> doors for the sheds. Steve is asking for an idea for budget numbers. <br /> Hartman stated that the sign department has been moved and it looks good and was a good <br /> move. Steve stated all of the inventory is one place and they have found that they may have too <br /> many of some signs and also stated they found some stamped stop signs.
