Lancaster stated they need to have agreements when the work starts. <br /> Ty Johnson expressed concern they are trying to save 200 homes. He noted that if everyone <br /> lost $100,000 in valuation that would be a lot of money. He noted that one home that was for <br /> sale lost $130,000 on the value of his home. <br /> Larry Mulligan #3 Sonja Drive stated they need to get everyone on board and would like a <br /> commitment from the county. They will go to the NRD and also the Home Owners Association. <br /> Quandt noted they want this to happen quickly. He questioned if the county can handle the dirt <br /> work. <br /> Steve stated it will be a large quantity of dirt and they only have 2 scrapers and may have to <br /> look at going out for bids. They need to have a set of plans and look at hiring by the hour <br /> having the county do the work or have the association go out for bids. They do not know the % <br /> split. <br /> Steve stated they are trying to get the culvert work done and the temporary repairs and get as <br /> far as they can go. <br /> Hartman stated in order to get this moving he made a motion to provide $100,000 from <br /> inheritance or keno and $100,000 in in kind work. That would be 2/3 of the proposed project <br /> costs. <br /> Discussion was held on where the fund could come from and Steve will come back in 2 weeks. <br /> Deputy County Attorney Sarah Carstensen stated that Pam Bourne is available for the <br /> conference call now. <br /> DRAINAGE DOWNSTREAM OF PLATTE VALLEY INDUSTRIAL PARK <br /> Mr. Riehle stated that the City of Grand Island, Economic Development Corporation and Olsson <br /> & Associates are looking at the drainage for the Platte Valley Industrial Park. They are working <br /> on a drainage plan with a possible cost of$400,000 for this project. They are proposing to use <br /> the side channel of the Wood River Diversion. Mr. Riehle showed a power point of the <br /> proposed plan. <br /> THE APPROVALS ARE FROM THE FOLLOWING. <br /> • Central Platte Natural Resources District has approved allowing the drainage into <br /> the side channel of the Wood River Diversion <br /> • Us Army Corps of Engineers has approved the drainage into the Wood River <br /> Diversion <br /> • Project will need to use Hall County Right —of-way along Schimmer Drive east of <br /> Blaine Street <br /> PROPOSED FUNDING <br /> • Grant from US Economic Development Administration <br /> • Drainage Improvement District assessed to properties <br /> • Central Platte Natural Resource District <br /> 9 <br />
